great video!! i just wanna say when phil said "who tells someone else about their sexuality five minutes after meeting?" i thought it was really interesting because i'm currently in school in scotland and when i meet another queer person, if they ask about my orientations i will gladly just tell them even if we've practically just met because i feel safe knowing they'll be cool about it. i think that's an interesting difference between generations of young queers :)

The difference is palpable! Imagine the fear and shame you'd feel being asked that in the past when people used the word gay to say something is bad, and now, for the most part, that fear and shame has turned to pride and joy. This is all thanks to queer activists. This is why we need LGBTQ pride!

My first year in college was a mess. My first semester in particular! I totally failed the whole semester (literally failed my classes) because my mental health was a mess and I was terrified of the future and being an adult. Trust me you’ll be fine :) I’ve figured out how to make it to 27 with two college degrees. Im getting married this year and I still don’t feel like an adult! Don’t let adulthood scare you. We’re all just figuring it out as we go
@sophiafoster85312 жыл бұрын
I also failed my first semester bc of poor mental health (2020 being my final year in hs killed me ugh) but I've now returned after half a year off and I'm so much better for it. Tbh for me it was a blessing bc this year the teachers I disliked were oddly replaced by brilliant ones (like a miracle) and my cohort is way better too. Aside from it being odd that my initial friends are now in the year above, everything is heaps better bc I restarted my course with way more knowledge of what's required and also with some experience of being an adult. I've basically learnt that things will usually turn out for the best and so much good has come from what was so scary and horrible at the time (failing the first semester)

I took two years off of university because my mental health tanked, then did a different online school for a year, and am now going to another different school on campus. this is like the 7th or 8th major I've declared across all three schools. everyone I knew has already graduated. but I've been through some pretty horrid stuff in the last several years, and if I hadn't prioritized my mental health things would have been even worse. I'm now happier than I've ever been and more confident in myself and the path I'm taking than I've ever been. it's okay to take time to sort yourself out. you deserve it, and whatever you end up doing, you'll be much more prepared for it. Gallery is now called Kuda and Willow was definitely the best night out in York hands down. People travelled from abroad to go the last night it was open and Tommy (the owner) just let people take whatever they wanted. There's stories about people taking the chairs home all the way to London and carrying them on the tube. Also, we used to live on the same street!

oh the absolute hit of nostalgia that I'm getting off of this video. I do this every once in a while when I go back and look at how much my primary school and secondary schools have changed since I've been out (it's been 14 years and 6 years respectively)/moved continents. The absolute face-smack of memories at looking at them....dear god. I feel ya Philly. But as for uni, yeah, you're not alone there Phil. We were all metaphorical and literal messes. I don't remember much of the mess part, but an incident of wine and pasta sauce out of a jar while doing chemistry posters stands out a bit

I almost ended up at York Uni, I recognise so many of these places from the open day. After a long sequence of events I ended up at Durham instead. I remember the big lake with all the geese though. The Jorvik Museum is one of my favourite places, absolutely recommend if anyone is visiting.

Oh that's cool! My sister went to Durham too and I actually went to her graduation recently

Most of us are probably suffering in collage while Phil being a lil happy go lucky guy he is, made tons of funny and wholesome memories with a lil embarrassing ones

As a current Uni of York student, it’s nice to see that the ‘Uni experience’ does not change over time 😅

ok the photo at 3:17 is iconic (teatowel blanket) and very relatable as a uni student

I just finished my associate degree and our campus was so full of geese they were our mascot. I can't tell you how many times I was late to class because the campus roads were just clogged with geese
