The increasing COST OF LIVING around the world is causing more people to look for more affordable options. The Philippines is that special location for many foreigners, travelers, and tourists. With the currency exchange very favorable for many traveling to the Philippines, it provides a cushion to the ongoing inflation. There are many options for lifestyle and cost of living expenses here.

nice video for us future expats. if you want your budget to be more controllable, don't have a girlfriend, until you get well established. it makes a big difference. I'm 74, will be coming from Texas in November, and will reside in Iloilo city to start my adventure. I'm looking forward to my new life's journey.

Thanks for the information. I usually rent a house for 3 months in Bohol (Tagbilaran) but I always need 1-2 weeks to find it. That's why I found a house in March and rented it for several years and it cost 13,000 a month. It has 3 rooms downstairs with living room, kitchen and bathroom and upstairs room, living room, kitchen and bathroom. It gives peace of mind to know where I will be staying when I arrive in November

My wife and I own around USD1M property in the Philippines, both residential and commercial. We don't rent. We have savings, investments and a decent income. Our cost of living is well-below our expenses. We have a profitable business.The kids are at school/university. Our monthly budget is around USD3000, but we never exceed that.

You’re forgetting the cost of paying for your Philipina, the cost of paying for her children from another man, the cost of being her family’s bank when they need money

Interesting content.. This was some nice insight for me.. Once my son is grown and I've helped him become independent and start his own life.. Helped get him to a poing he's strong enough to live without me always being nearby.. In a few years all going well, I'm planning to retire early.. Was looking at Thailand originally but over time began to see the Philippines as a better option.. I'm pretty sure I'll settle in well, make a life there work for me.. Now I'm certain, while I'm currently biding my time.. I'm now looking into the details, everyday life, finance etc.. Fine tuning how I'd potentially make things work for me etc!.. This was useful, thanks for sharing your thoughts and your time on this my yankee friend.. 😎👍

Unless you own your home in the Philippines and have solar with a battery back-up your retirement income with dwindle away. The housing prices will only increase as more expats cannot afford to live in their country. Also, having a newer an reliable vehicle..a car or van is best. Your most expensive items after that will be is your health insurance and family expenses.

I'm not trying to butter you up I'm just telling the truth.. you always answer my questions can I have kind of a stupid question.. do the Burger King Whopper burgers taste Char-Broil like they do in America? Are there french fries and onion rings as good as in America? Thank you sir and keep up the great videos?

My first trip to BKing here was many years ago and I detected a bit of a different taste in the burger Richard, but not too far off. I have found much better burgers here since they were the most strict about not letting you in during covid times.

Hey bud question. Is there an eye doctor in Cebu you can recommend? Asking around about an optometrist. I have dental work to do also but I think I found a reputable dentist. Too lazy to look thru your videos 😂. Anyway appreciate any good eye doctor you can recommend.
@AmazingPhilippines1
@AmazingPhilippines1 3 ай бұрын
I have seen 2 optomotrists here and neither was a great experience mrbbruiser. Many hospitals have an optical department so you might try one of them. MAAYO is one newer facility but most hospitals would have this.

I find this video too technical. Much better show the prices of different accommodation in various locations. As for US goods costing more, l can't believe older Americans can't adapt to local food . European vloggers are much more adventurous.

It costs twice as much as in China. Things are pretty expensive in Philippines as nothing is made locally. There are no nice foods either. Housing is expensive because you are actually living in expat level houses and local people only live in straw huts. To sum it up, it is usually pretty expensive to live in poor countries unless you can live in the same poor conditions as locals.
@Sheepleton
@Sheepleton 3 ай бұрын
Lol Chinese cities are expensive too. No one lives in straw huts wtf
@jsully4064
@jsully4064 3 ай бұрын
@thelogician1934 This is a false statement. Most of the housing in Cebu City are not straw huts. Most of them are actually modern style concrete houses. Not all have modern amenities. Straw huts or bamboo made Nipa Huts are mostly in the province or rural areas, not Cebu City. There are a lot of shacks, including where squatters live but mostly concrete houses because the termites there will destroy wood houses. Sorry to bust your bubble but rent is a lot cheaper in the Philippines also. If you live in IT Park or Business Park in Cebu, yeah, it can be more expensive but it is still cheaper than the US. Maybe you are trying to scare people from retiring to the Philippines?
@thelogician1934
@thelogician1934 3 ай бұрын
@@Sheepleton you won't be allowed to live in China. What do you know? If you were allowed, you wouldn't live in cesspool now would you? Unless you are after women at all cost. All toilets here do not have toilet seats. I can't imagine people come here to enjoy lives. Unless they are desperate.
@AmazingPhilippines1

@thelogician1934 I have visited China and I would have to disagree with you. The Philippines offers many benefits for expats and most of us appreciate these.
