I am a professional linguist and a university educator of almost 32 years. Here, we find the most valid, academically correct and logical explanations of Russian grammar points I have ever seen on the web. Here, we find real GOLD. My best recommendations for using this site to all students studying Russian as a foreign language and my warm compliments to my colleague - the creator/author/designer/instructor etc. of these highly useful lessons and the entire program. My s Vami edinomyshlenniki! Kindest regards, Dr. Marina Sabanadze

thanks so much! perfect explanations,but what about the conjunction *да* in expression contrast and opposition.?
@AmazingRussian
@AmazingRussian 6 жыл бұрын
Bovo Zangief , good question. Yes, it is used instead of «но» and «и», but it is a more literary word, than conversational. This video is for beginners, and I do not think that they should use «да» in spoken Russian.

13:52 here it shows ya NEPLOXO GOVORYU po-russki and ya pishu po-russki esho NE OCHEN XOPOSHO. first there is the adverb before the verb (which i thought signified a statement) then in the second half, it shows the adverb after the verb (which i thought signified an answer to a question. I’m a little confused. Does it matter where we put the adverb when writing these sentences regarding language skills? Please explain if you can, thank you!

Does the conjunction "да" (with the same meaning as "и") ever occurs in everyday speech in Russian, for instance: "ты да я"? I have never heard it in spoken Russian, but I have read that it exists. If so, is that conjunction somewhat related to the Ukrainian one "та" (and)?
@AmazingRussian
@AmazingRussian 3 жыл бұрын
You are right. The conjunction да is used in the meanings и and но mostly in idioms or set expressions and almost never in contemporary spoken Russian. I have no expertise on the Ukrainian language.

Thank you again for an excellent video. I used to find these conjunctions confusing but I think I've got it now. Is it correct to say that you use HO where in German you would use SONDERN? ''Er ist nicht arm, sondern reich.'' Greetings from Namibia!

Cédric Kouamé N'Zi , это долго объяснять. Иногда НУ используется в разговорной речи и не несёт особого значения. It’s like a conversational filler. Ну привет. Ну как тебе сказать? Ну не знаю.
