It’s a shame that the beautiful structures are so heavily tagged. I can see why they would lock the gate. They don’t want their treasure to be disrespected by taggers. Despite all, it’s still a beautiful city. God bless you and thank you for the tour. 😊

Can't believe all of the graffiti on the walls. The city fathers obviously have been turning a blind eye to this vandalism and what a shame to see almost every surface covered with this stuff!

I've made a video of the horrible graffiti in Trastevere and I sent it to the mayor. I was hoping for something to be done about it but they don't care, even the locals don't care. You can watch the video I filmed and sent to the mayor on my videos lists.
@HughJaramillo2 жыл бұрын
@@AmazingWalkingTour Great to hear that you did that. I am not at all surprised that nobody seems to care because you see from your videos that the locals don't seem to be bothered one bit as they go about their business. I guess one reason that the city doesn't do anything about it is because of the cost involved. I know that right now Italy is not in great financial shape and Rome particularly. Please send a link of the video that you sent the sent to the mayor, I would love to see it.

The cemeteries are interesting .,and not something many tourists would think of visiting. I took a random trip ,years ago and ended up at what I think was the protestant cemetery,easy to reach on the metro,with a large statue of Keats.The Catholic cemetery seems enormous

The tempietto is truly beautiful. It can be seen as a test for the dome of the St Peter. The revolutionary thing was they the construction of the dome brought done the construction-load 100% vertically, so they didn't need the 'flying buttresses' anymore, the ones you see with gothic churches
@mona22422 жыл бұрын
I had to add my second comment here, please bring us to the Jewish ghetto starting from Trastevere. And one more hidden gem, start from Piazza Farnese to Campo dei Fiori and take a left to Arco dei Acetari…and behold the best kept medieval gem in all of Roma. Till next time, Ciao.

It has nothing to do with the video but it's always fun to see how many Smarts were sold in Rome, more than 200,000 if I remember correctly (not to mention the other small cars) and are all parked on the street (because usually are the second/third car in the family).
