My takeaway is that he played the long game, and he played it goooood! On the other hand, his business practices are far from ethical

They’ll easily grow, the online market place has tons of room to grow plus they might start cost cutting and raising prices which would help. Though the biggest advantage is the fact that the cloud industry is gonna explode so they are gonna keep growing for a while.

And his sellers. The seller pays for everything. Shipping? We pay. Returns? We pay. Storage We pay. Also a hefty commission. Worst customers service for their 3rd party sellers also. And the list goes on. Necessary EVIL>

Jeff Bezos didn't just hire lobbyists to represent Amazon in Washington. He also, purchased the city's largest local newspaper and also the city's largest mansion. What a way to assert dominance. 😂😂

1 really imp thing we can learn from Amazon, is to not to give a shit what people thing about the business or you, something a lot of people say but it's difficult to implement when big people and millions of people are again it Coz in the start he used to go to investors and say he will be a billionaire, he will take the business to the peaks but everyone laughed and ignored him This guy was one of the largest company which went pass the .com bubble burst

it would have been a better discussion to talk about how can amazon fall as all other companies do after there growth curve first reaches plateau and then finally starts declining...i have been thinking about this questions for a while and till now my best guess is that if drone technology is democratized as in it becomes very cheap to buy and operate a robust and functional drone for delivery then even the local retailers can probably benefit by delivering stuff faster than amazon...may be then we see the decline in amazon's retail business...
@ahmedo78752 жыл бұрын
No drones won’t work in most areas, but I think amazon will fall if someone like Walmart uses its stores as fulfilment centres to provide a load of products really cheap and fast and Microsoft and nividia provide cheaper and better cloud services because they have better OS and hardware developers and KZbin live is growing fast so twitch could be in trouble

Growth over profit is the way to go it seems. As an investment-enthusiast, I've always believed that profits alone, like, the single number, means close to nothing. A startup having 1 million dollars in profits, but not re-investing that profit in anything, choosing to 'stay a startup forever' is worse than one which re-invests everything and has 0 profits. The story of Bezos and Amazon is very inspiring
