Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos says the key to success for Amazon and The Washington Post is putting their customers first.

But, in a small grocery store who comes first is the relationship between employees. If the customer senses a friendly environment they'll want to know more about the product you're selling. If they sense you're a bunch of hooligans, they will walk away feeling very disappointed. I've seen things happen like this

Amazon has plenty of competitors, it acts as a middleman between producers and consumers, if costs increase too much then amazon no longer becomes the primary mode for purchases. Additionally amazon makes massive amounts of gross profit (its a lie to claim that they sell a dollar pencil for 90 cents), they make 20-30% gross margin (hardly predatory prices), but choose to make large fixed capital investments (Ai, robots, etc) that helps the bottom line overtime. This is good for everyone involved.

Is this why your customer service and leadership team flat out lied to me about an order. "No delay","right on track to arrive on time","you'll get your order on time we guarantee it"...it was the same lies with the leadership team promising and guaranteeing my order. I then get an email to approve of the delay for the very same order that all these very same people just promised and guaranteed to me would arrive on time. 6 orders theyve done this with. I'd love to get the stuff anywhere else but since its sold exclusively through amazon here we are.....So sit there again and go on how much you value customers!

Yeah, the time before last when I dealt with those losers at amazon customer service, over another complaint, they gave a platitude apology then told me they would issue a $5 credit for my trouble. Well, that $5 credit never found its way to my account (over three weeks ago). Just spent about 45 minutes arguing with some other customer service clown there (they transferred me to three actually) and I am starting to think that the third moron that I talked to was still in the 2nd grade considering the way I had to modify my intellect just to explain things to him. It didn't work out so well.

Just so u know I tried to talk to AMAZON customer service about a account issue today. And I could barely understand him . The guy was very rude. And hard to hear. And had a fan over his mic, so between his bad attitude and accent, and on top of all of that. He fell asleep while talking to me. Amazon , your customer service sucks ass

and isn't it odd, that little example that they used in this video, with that tech support person who was articulate and spoke clearly, is very very misleading because at best, you will get someone from their outsourcing that you have to struggle to understand what they are saying and vice versa. They are also rude and cannot seem to comprehend things that almost any kindergartener would. Is this CEO so out of touch with reality that he doesn't even know what is going on in his own empire, or is he just lying through his teeth about being CUSTOMER ORIENTED?

what HOGWASH!!! As a frequent customer to amazon, I can honestly say that their unique excuse for customer service is by far the WORST I have ever received! For one thing, they outsource to RUDE customer service employees who make all kinds of promises to appease a disgruntled customer. THEN they fail to deliver on the promises that they made to remedy their inexcusable behavior. It makes me SICK to hear him talk about being CUSTOMER ORIENTED when they clearly have NO interest in resolving valid customer complaints and concerns!
