I actually have my final interview before getting an offer my advice is your business is going to turn out depends on you. I was an operations manager , dispatcher etc and you have to be a great leader to succeed and retain your employees.

The pacing in this video is so much easier to follow. :) You've come a long way in your videos, and I'm here for it. Edit* The micromanagement now makes sense why it's so so so frustrating for the drivers as well. Delivering at all costs - yeah, I flipped a 16' foot box truck on it's side and into a ditch after hitting an ice patch because they had us drive in the worst snowstorm of the year. I got fired. I had outstanding driving and delivery metrics and had been there for over six months. The DSP had only been at that station for 8 months. I was told (on the gossip chain, not from the owner or HR) that it was most likely too expensive to insure me after that. I believe the box truck was totaled, and also took out a sign (I figured it was better than hitting oncoming traffic.) I had to be taken to the ER Trauma unit as well. Anyhow, three weeks later, I applied with a different DSP. I miss working XL, but what can you do.

Thank you Jen for the videos you've posted on the DSP program. The pros are amazing and with anything there are risk and reward. The question is, is the risk too great. I would like the opportunity to connect with you with other questions, if possible. I've worked for Amazon in Human Resources in the past and know how they operate from a warehouse operation. I would like to know, how often did you experience your team not meeting their package delivery expectation. What was your ratio of FTE and PT workers? How many vehicles did you/do you have to run your business successfully? How can I connect with out DSP owners without being in the program?

I'm looking into this and think this is a great opportunity. Her cons are valid but if you are looking into any kind of venture into the logistics field especially in a shipping aspect these are inherent risks. The beauty part of this is that the foundation is laid.

Seems like working with Amazon would be more risk than reward. As a former delivery driver for Amazon I can concur on the peak season trials that come. Is FedEx a better alternative?

Basically there is little to no reward for working hard. Yeah you personally might get a profit but tht doesnt often trickle down to people under you. and because of the insane workload they require it might not even be in your best interest to sign your new contract because its just even more work.
