Amazing pitch advice and a lot of valuable information about how to actually run your business (especially the photography example about not showing everything you have shot but only show the 3 best pictures). Keep the pitch and how you communicate to other people short and to the point.

Wowza! Thank you Brendan! I can easily understand not only the why of your points, but how investors would actually appreciate these points in action.

12:48 Brendan talks about one of his experiences while a Brazillian startup was making a pitch. Until the very end of the presentation, he was unsure if the company is real and actively running. When he saw that more than 75% of the Brazillian e-commerce companies use their software and their revenue was in the millions. This is interesting because I tend to believe that what they say is true until the opposite is said or I found it out. People are generally underestimating startup businesses. When they show their vision and conceptual work (or work in development) they are usually not got interested. I think this is the lowest point of cost where an investor can join a startup and invest. Pre-angel investors will be the future. Note this.
@djpete2009 Жыл бұрын
I agree. I am a startup and I know we will do great with our solution. And this is our weakest moment for a sharp investor to join something that will be massive. Bootstrapping at the moment but needing to scale exponentially. We just need to find the funds!

Some do it to humanize themselves. If they curse often in their daily conversations, and they know they have to be professional for the presentation, they use just one bad word so people aren't surprised when they have a convo with them 😂.

2:56 - wrong. VCs/angels don't care about passion 7:05 - LOL! VCs/angels BELIEVE they know "how the world is changing" just because they read some trendy articles etc 9:54 - "investors are smart" LOOOL they Don't know anything about science, tech, not even what the market wants. All they know is some number crunching, some business & legal stuff, and what the best luxury brands/clubs are 10:08 - ?????? "it's stupid to invest at seed stage...most of them fail" correlation != causation. You said you were "smart" LOL I'll summarize my counterargument as: you VCs/angels deliberately chose red flag startups, again and again, then when they failed... you become bitter and wonder "where are all the good startups?" You passed on them. 10:24 - "they want excitement and intuition" guess why your portfolio is failing 10:35 - just like dating women LMAO 14:44 - the dime a dozen red flag filled, but funded, startup 14:51 - STOP lying 15:46 - that's not a laser LMAO; told you VCs/angels don't know anything about science etc 16:33 - the only sensible, useful chapter of your presentation
