@@braulioortiz184 I have a fire hd 10 (2017) ; I have downloaded some apps and films and now it's a bit laggy, but it's still okay for watching a movie or listening to music. Even the web browsing is laggy. It's a laggy device for media, I don't think you would like it as a navigator. And the more stuff you download, the laggier it will become. My experience is that you need something with a fast chipset/performance. Maybe a bigger screen, faster, cheaper Xiaomi phone would be a better idea for that. Or an older version of iPad (I don't like Apple products, but they can be really fast and responsive)

Dear @TechDaily ! You can blow my mind with your fancy viewpoints: -plastic housing is better, because it's more durable and lightweight. Pets are for stroking and tablets are for watching. -yes, wireless charging is necessary, because USB-C might stop working after half a year. Micro USB can last for many years. That is my experience and that's why I buy it wireless if it has USB-C port. Nasty manufacturers, if they would have kept Micro USB, then we won't need to pay for their wireless charging options. In that you are right, that Amazon should have built in a more powerful chipset, like that which is in the fire hd 10 (2017) ; but that might have increased the price. I gave you a like only because you reviewed the charging dock, thanks! -I need at least 3-4GB RAM for my Android phones, so yes, I would prefer tablets which have higher RAM options.

I have owned two Fire HD 10 tablets and about 2 months ago I UPGRADED to a Fire HD 8 Plus and could not be happier. Great tablet, great form factor and so much easier to hold, especially when reading in bed.

I just bought the Amazon Fire 8 and very satisfied with it! I had an older model and this one is so nice, I like that it has front and back camera, easy to set up to Wi-Fi and the sound and video quality. The price was very reasonable.

I do too. Once I realized that I don't use most of the premium features that were on my ipad, I made the decision to get a Fire tablet. I love it so far. Will buy the 10' version on black Friday. The compels imo are almost irrelevant. How much of a difference is the camera quality actually making for the average user?

I like my HD8 2020 because I wanted a smaller tablet. I already have the HD10 (the last version), which is good for watching videos, etc. But it very unwieldy when trying to read a book. The HD8 is much better for reading a book. When I bought mine, I got a 20% discount, bring the price to $71.00. Then I traded a 2017 Fire Tablet, and got another $35 credit. So the price was quite worth it as a device to consume content.

The hd10 was upgraded recently. It has a white version and it uses USB-C charging. It is way faster than the previous hd10.

I have a feeling the fire 7 is practically the same as the fire 8. Tips for increasing the performance of those tablets. 1. Use a micro sd and offload as many apps and photos etc onto it as possible. The more of that 16gb that is freed up, the more faster it will run. 2. Increase the battery life by getting a cheap $10 portable battery charger. Will increase your battery by hours 3. Fix the glare by getting an anti glare screen protector made for your tablet 4. Don’t be stuck into the amazon ecosystem. You can download the google operating system onto your tablet, or you can download pretty much any google play store app by downloading the aptoid tv app which is an alternative google play store Also don’t let the plastic casing fool you. The fire tablets are very durable Also be aware that despite what you may see on videos on KZbin, these tablets are not good for gaming on cod or fortnite. Maybe the 8 plus might be a little better, but I know the 7 is not because I own one

I have a 7th Generation Fire HD 8 which after 2 years of solid usage stopped being able to charge anymore. From what I understand this is a fairly common problem due to the crappy Micro USB charging port that either dislodges internally or otherwise fails. Do you know if the new USB-C port with the 10th Generation HD8 or wireless charging capability with the HD 8 Plus prevent this common hardware failure issue?

I'd rather have plastic than aluminum. Plastic is not cheap, it's inexpensive but is very durable.

The HD 10 has a superb (full sRGB gamut) screen. Still waiting for the HD 8 to match it. I can live with 720p but really want the extended color range. Until then this is still just a Kindle reader with the ability to load web pages, so cheap that forgetting it in the seat pocket on a flight isn't a big deal.

I have to admit, I don't get the appeal of wireless charging that much. It's really wasteful and not that convenient over just plugging in. You can't even move your device while it's charging.

I wish theyd make a plus version of the 10 but the 8 is cool i guess. Surprised that they dont have more colors for the 8 plus lol. But whatever i guess lol. And i would pay more for wireless charging cause its nice to have that option as well as wired charging cause the charging port always starts to fuck up after a bit. I can't figure out how to load a file (drag and drop from PC) to be globally recognised by all profiles. The files are on the device, but only viewed by the profile logged in at the time of loading files on. It's the same with downloading apps.

Amazon lists it as the 2.0ghz Octocore and I believe that makes it the 2GHz Mediatek MT8183 octa-core processor from the HD 10 as well. Still looking for confirm that though

Tiny core and simple system monitor from play to show what's going on. 3gb is good for webpage tabs staying in ram when you go back to them, a example being shopping and banking or PayPal all open, going back to a tab makes it reload and that's not good for banking, more ram keeps it. More ram has nothing to do with loading but for reloading. On the old 1.5gb one it fills the ram and pushes apps out when a game is loaded Try the apps on the play store and see Oh and from start a fire 8 has about 68 things running plus your own Killing them frees up CPU even though they say they don't use CPU I've just got a 3gb one but I'd say 2gb is OK, 3gb being better for a phone so you keep the phone in ram while googling or gaming I'd like to see how long the Alexa app takes to get to the play part On the 1.5gb it takes 60 secs+

@@Garret1486 hearthstone runs really good..but loading time is a bit long....cod mobile runs smooth on low settings..transformers earth wars is a bit laggy.. raid legends is playable but not smooth enough. Dont expect to much ..but i love it. I love to play heartstone on this device.. also keep in mind this device is a bit heavy .

Dissidia runs pretty well so im hoping it runs better on the new one and then some newer games like Grand Cross Exos Heoes or War of the Visions were the ones crashing frequently so im hoping they run stable with more ram.
