3 gb ram is a big improvement. If you drop it it will not break. High in tablets are easy to break. You can side load google store for apps.

Installing the Playstore won't void your warranty. If you have to send it back they require that you reset the tablet to remove your personal info first. And if you're doing an exchange, they will send you the new one before you even ship the old one back.

@Christian Lee They will just check to make sure it is in the condition you said it was in when you return it before either sending to get refurbished or liquidated. They are not going to check for root. I've worked for another major retailer and this is how they handled returns.

It's indeed plastic and I like it, it's not as good as metal, but it's hundreds of times better than glass. And dive it's very rugged, I love it. I wish the plus model had done different colours though, like dark blue and dark red, so it would differ itself from the other version.

You can easily load the Google Play Store. It takes about five minutes. And, despite what another commenter said, there are no hits to performance. Still, dollar for dollar, the best tablet on the market.

Is the play store always properly updated for your apps and everything? I haven't bought an Amazon tablet before but I want one mainly for KZbin, net browsing and the occasional manga and I saw this one had an extra gig of ram.

I traded in my old fire for $10 plus 20% off if i buy a amazon device. I choose to get the newest fire hd 8 and it was on sale for $59.99 so after trade In plus discount i paid about $41 for the new gen fire hd 8. It’s way better then my old fire hd. It will never be as good as my ipad but I am not complaining since i only paid $40 for it, worth every penny.

The newer fire hd 8 plus can now run pubg at 40 FPS is you put the graphics on smooth so the minimum settings you should review the 2022 one

i bought a fire hd 8 and sold it within a week then bought a galaxy tab a 8" 2019. I couldnt stand the layout/setup of the software and very limited apps and games in the appstore

If you are a gamer, this is not the right tablet for you, it cannot satisfy your desire to have a good game. but if you just use it in research, it can be done. especially here in the Philippines, children need a tablet because the class will be on online. I could have done it to my brother. hopefully we can avail it before schooling starts. 😊😊

i only use my fire hd 8 for silk browser and prime video. i tried loading playstore. it just makes tablet lets smooth running so i removed it. besides i dont care for the extra apps.

I don't know what you were expecting for a Tablet that only costs $89 dollars to start. A brand new tablet that will have support for at least 2 years if not a bit longer that is ideal for ebooks, comicbooks, checking email, casual surfing, not to mention movies and TV shows is a steal. If anyone wants a Pixel tablet or iPad I would imagine those people are watching reviews for those items as they are made for different audiences. Fire tablets have always been made for those people who want something for simple light use for media. The Fire line succeeds in that regard without breaking the wallet of even the most frugal of buyers. If you want more app stores? Try APKpure apkpure.com/apkpure-app.html?icn=aegon&ici=text_footer or Aptioid www.aptoide.com/ or if you want FOSS try F-Droid f-droid.org/ You can also search for Aurora Droid or Aurora Store. Granted that the Lenovo Tablet is nice, it does come down to what you are wanting in a tablet. With that said, this device will be in my hands soon. :)

You should go for the Amazon Fire 10 HD - Octa-Core processor. I had one, very good. only has the 2 GB Ram but I really didnt have problems with it. Good buy for about $150 american.

Nothing at that price point has 3GB ram and 2.0ghz with 8 inch screen. This reviewer is an idiot. It's a great little tablet. Plus it take less than 5 mins to download and install google play store, just search eta prime for google play installation tutorial.

To be fair, I was always against Amazon tablets. I've used an android for years. I decided to get the 2018 fire8hd at 44 pound on offer and I love it. It's side loaded with Google etc and I've tweaked it for performance and it runs okay for the spec and price. The new upgrade won't cut it for me as nothing has changed as it's still the same tablet in terms of the operating system etc. Only better ram and CPU along with the battery. Il wait till they hit the 44 pound mark in a year or so .lol
