I was worried about replacing my high-end older oasis with this one kzbin.infoUgkxCgPI5O2AtmcHq9SJhgsCGbpAzJAJfrJp but it is surprisingly light and the screen resolution is just as good. I never had the warm light on my old kindle, but i do not use it on the ipad so I will probably not need it. I think the only thing I'll miss is the self-adjusting light, but this is so worth it!

Just put my niece's Kindle back together. It was easy once I knew how to get in there. Thanks for the vid. My niece says, "thanks" too.

500 degrees for the soldering iron. Since I use a bevel edge, the surface contact area to the USB pins and solder paste is minimal and I need a high temperature to heat up tiny metal prongs so they solder very well to the PCB. On hot air extraction, when I need to remove a broken/partially lifted USB connector, I will go to 400 degrees on the air flow and set the flow rate to a medium to control my nozzle velocity. New to KZbin, and these are raw videos: next week I will upload HIDEF. Thanks.

Thanks for the video. I learned a lot. I'm not sure I'm quite as gung-ho about this repair as I initially thought. I also like the sound of a child playing in the background.

Would you be able to show us the removal of the board in a 4th gen Kindle Fire HD 7? I think it may have a bad charger port or something. No reaction at all when a charger is plugged in to the port. I do not see a light to say that the device is charging either. I have it plugged in as I typed out this question.

Hi, zranch. Thanks so much for your efforts here. Much appreciated, and helpful to me. Good luck to "little micro", too. I can vouch that they grow up all too quickly! Grampa Lou, now brave enough to try to fix my KF, thanks to your video!

Mike Larson No but I reopened everything made sure everything was set down tight and then reset the Kindle. I would try resetting it before reopening everything. Just push and hold the power button for at least 20 seconds. Let it restart and try again. If not pop everything open and make sure all the tiny connectors are on correctly and screwed down button it back up and give it a go! Good luck! My repair is still going strong!

This video is very informative... made me realize DIY repair was more than I was ready to tackle myself... so I went and found zranch123's repair on ebay and it was a great decision... excellent repair... great price.. good communication, and fast repair... highly recommended if you don't want to mess with it yourself..
