@@CapeNTiara I don’t have the info for another video, but I can say with confidence that an incoming L6 non tech Program Manager can be offered a $130K base pay with $100K in stocks at Amazon. I would love to do a video on that but I don’t have the physical offer letter. I was only shown it.

so if the basepay is 80 - 88k and the total compensation is 100-110 k . Does that mean that after the second year your pay will be 80 -88k?
@TheYoung23a2 жыл бұрын
Chris how much is the pay raise from L5 to L6. Any idea. Great breakdown btw.
@Chris_jae2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! And in general an L5 will make 90K base and an L6 could expect more like 110K (although I've heard of some making 130K). It also depends on which type of PM as well. If you're technical then the pay scale is much different (110K L4, 130K L5, 150K L6). It does very by region though and experience, but that should get you a rough estimate. In general though, external hires will get a higher base pay than somone transfering roles internally or being promoted internally.

Can you mention how these sign on, stock etc are taxed? If you have a website where I can calculate monthly net, that would be great. Thanks!
@Chris_jae2 жыл бұрын
They're taxed the same as regular salary. They're considered income so they'll be taxed at whatever the state and federal income tax rates are.

I know it's a rumor but is PIP a real thing at Amazon? How is WLB at Amazon as a PM?
@Chris_jae2 жыл бұрын
It is lol. If you don’t perform to expectations you are put on a special project where you receive some coaching and if you don’t perform to expectations, you are let go. And WLB at Amazon as a PM can be a challenge. It largely depends on your manager. In my case I work 8-9 hour days but on my same team there are those who work 10-12 hours, unfortunately, I know more people who work 10-12 hours than 8-9. There’s a bit of pressure to put those hours in

@@Chris_jae Man, Thank you for your honest/ fast response. I know there are other KZbinrs out there who works for Amazon but yet when I asked this question, they either denied it or just sugar-coated their answer completely. I really appreciate it. Also, thank you so much for all the content you put on your channel. I know I said it before but I will say it again,, your Chanel is really a gem for people like me who look forward to moving to Seattle and who trying to crack into the tech industry.
@Chris_jae2 жыл бұрын
@@LongTran-yf4hq no problem! I figure it gives more accurate expectations. When I went in I was told 40 hour weeks or less were normal, only to have that same person leave the company and tell me they worked more like 50 hours a week. Working at Amazon isn’t bad for a PM and is a great experience, but it is generally more work that what some people make it out to be. Of course it can also depend on the team
@ramibendjedda57122 ай бұрын
Hi Chris, thanks for all the information, if I may, I have another question, do we receive the same bonus if someone has been promoted from L3 to L4? And if they work at another site, do they also receive a bonus for relocating? These questions are very important for Amazonians who want to develop their careers within the company. Thank you for your attention.
@Alex-be2nb2 ай бұрын
Internal promos make ALOT less than an external coming in. Also, relo is dependent on where you’re going and coming from. The job posting will generally say if there is a relo bonus or not

@Chris_jae2 жыл бұрын
Hey! This is actually a non-tech position. And if you’re in ops it can take as short as 6 months, but typically I’ve seen it happen in 1-2 years. It depends on your manager and if you let them know you want to become a PM
