this is a -58f to 1100f twin spot laser temperature gun, it is pretty easy to use and the modes and emissivity is easy to change it does use convergent spot lasers to help you get better readings. I do go over emissivity best practices because it is important to understand it to get accurate readings. I suppose this unit is okay but couple have better build quality.

Never really used a laser thermometer, so this vid is interesting. Emissivity is fascinating. Great review, Ty.

Congratulations for the use of a very unusual word: D I S T I N C T I F I E S . According to the Urban Dictionary, the word distinctify is: "A totally logical conjugation of the word distinctive that is not included as part of the English language so that assholes can feel intelligent by correcting people about something trivial." I knew you were highly knowledgeable about tools, Catus, but your extensive lexicon is also quite impressive.

9V batteries kill it for me. They are expensive. I bought IR thermometers that work on rechargeable AAAs.

Never even occurred to me to worry about it. I don't use it every day and my batteries last between 3 and 4 years. Literally. I have the 9v laying around anyway since I use them in older smoke detectors in my home.

Just use rechargeable 9v of u r too cheap to buy a 9v every few years. I'm on my 4th year on same generic battery that came with the unit.

Wouldn't be surprised to learn it is one and the same. A lot of things are multi branded by the same manufacturer.....somewhere in the bowels of China.
