Amazon’s $229 Fire Max 11 looks to be a tablet built for productivity

Amazons Fire Tablets aren’t know for being anything more than a way to browse the web or shop on Amazon. The Fire Max 11 just might change that.

The only thing I find concerning is the RAM. 6-8 GB should be standard at that price. Others like the Xioami Pad have 6GB of RAM.

Typically I'd agree. But FireOS is optimized extremely good for the hardware setup.

The Xioami Redmi Pad, which is priced similarly is 4GB. The Xioami Pad 5 is 350 bucks, over a hundred more than this, so you need to factor that in. But their Pad that is prices the same is 4GB, so Amazon would have had to charge an extra hundred bucks, as Xioami did, to make it 6GB

The "real" price point for this tablet will be around $130-150ish because they mark down their tablets a lot during Cyber Monday, Prime Day etc. For that price it is a good deal imo

I know that Amazon has price in mind when they put out these tablets. But it would be nice to come out with a tablet that is premium along with great specs and also. Undercut your competition.

@@josephguy1456 Actually, this new tablet has pretty decent specs. For example, out of the 4 Lenovo 11 inch tablets, the P11 Gen 1, P11 Gen 2, P11 Pro Gen 1, P11 Pro Gen 2, the Fire Max 11 scores higher on single and multi core on geekbench 5 than all but the Pro Gen 2 which was released recently.

I can't wait for it. Fire OS doesn't have stupid Google limitations. This device almost everyone needs. Do not be fooled by devices not having even SD card.

I recently purchased the Lenovo Duet 3 Chromebook and thought the same thing as you when I saw the Max 11. Very identical and appearance. It would be interesting to see a side by side comparison video of the two.

If you just want to watch videos and do basic things with limited apps… then this is fine. Also, you can only write with the stylus… not for doing anything else (like doing art). If you want better, get the iPad. It is more expensive (not by far),… but you get Apps and you do magic with the Apple Pencil because it has pressure sensitivity. Plus, everything works flawlessly

The Fire Max 11 still lacks the resolution of my beloved, long dead HDX 8.9: 2560 x 1600 pixels. In addition, that 8.9 form factor was perfect. The 10 inch tablet, and I assume the 11 inch tablet, are too large to fit in, say, a purse or carrier pouch. And the 10 inch is uncomfortable to hold. (I know. I've been using one for two years). The 8.9 inch fit comfortably in my hands and in my courier pouch. Also, thank you for mentioning the slow down. I hadn't realized it was that common. When I got the 2021 HD 10, it was reasonably speedy. Two years later and it is slower than molasses.

I have a 10, really only use it to bring on a plane for downloaded Netflix movies AND United STILL doesn't support Chrome at last check. It suits my needs but it IS a little slow.

The smartphone has some extremely nice features and certainly looks high-end. It has a mediatek chip and good camera support.

It’s extremely easy to jail break it and get the android store on it, I have a fire 8 max or whatever, it’s got the android store on it and emulator so I can play older Pokémon games

Any table is fast at the beginning. Once you update 3 or 4 times start slowing down I hate it..

The problem with this is the price increase it put's it in shark infested waters. The Lenovo P11 Pro is the same price but has a faster cpu, more ram and a better screen etc. The Ipad 9th gen also doesn't cost much more. I can't see this selling as well as the HD 10 models unless they slash the prices on sale.

I think people like tablets over laptops for some productivity tasks due to their portability and forced focus on a single/couple of tasks. Not to mention, laptops are typically bigger, not as portable, and way more expensive than tablets like the Fire Max 11.
