I expect Amazon to keep the site as marketplace for this year then from 2025 they will gradually introduce their US catalogue a bit. One thing i found worrying is the pricing maybe it will change from 2025.

great impurt on this matter i still bealive South Aficans have been waiting for Amazon, I think the of African countries are going to use Amazon South Africa , I bealive they already have strategies the issue of unemployment but lets give them a chance . And our local brands will have opportunity to sell on world's biggest platform from our neighboring countries and abroad.

I have put amazon SA on my laptop but not on my phone, there I will still use amazon usa, I will keep comparing the two and will be patient

My thoughts is the reason the pricing isn't something to write home about is they wanted a not so loud launch since as you say its election time and it might bring unwanted attention, Amazon is too big to be figuring out logistics they've been planning this so to me just seems like they playing it low 3 months after election im expecting a big move from their part especially regarding pricing.

Maybe you are right. As a business strategy student I am going to be watching if they can deal with the issues effectively and to make it work for the SA market. They have to figure out pricing and range. I went back to Amazon USA because they have a good range and it’s cheaper.
