Vine really jump-started my listing during the honeymoon. It was the perfect combo for product launch. Will be enrolling again for next month's launch.

I'm a Vine member, and I live in a state where we have to pay state taxes. We vine members receive a 1099-NEC for the total value of the products we ordered and reviewed. No money changes hands yet we are stuck with the tax bill. Ami said Amazon pays the seller for their product once a review has been posted. Is Amazon also paying the tax on said products or are they passing that on to us via the 1099? It so complicated tax wise. Seems to me, if we are required to pay tax on the Value of the goods, we should also be allowed to pay the the value of the additional tax owed generated by the 1099 with the goods we receive.

I am so with you, but this is a US tax law issue, and we can't blame Amazon for this. Explainer: Techically employers are supposed to tax their employees for all gifts they provide to employees. If you win a trip as a a salesperson, or get a jacket for being part of a product launch team, then they are supposed to report those to the government as taxable benefits. Employees rarely do this because it is very rude culturally. Instead employeers will hold a meeting and take attendance so the trip becomes a business trip. Or they will give you the jackets while outside to say they were needed for the weather, or will also order jackets for large customers, and will simply not keep records of any employees who got the jackets. Amazon is essentially buying these items from sellers to promote their sellers, but they have no loophole options in this case.

@@saltwaterpurl Thank you. This makes sense. And... as long as a Voice keeps their ETV lower, they will not be assessed taxes on those amounts. I have been invited to join the program, so I am looking for more information before I click the "Let's Get Started!" button. There is not a lot of information available for those invited to review before they get in and start, so I think that also comes to them in shock value when they realize all the "free" products they were receiving and reviewing weren't completely free. I have been watching a few videos on YT, and there are apparently a lot of people who get into the program, not because they enjoying reviewing products and are looking to benefit from receiving the product at a low to no cost but because they are looking to resell the products later, then complain that have to pay taxes on the income they've generated. The program seems mutually viable, but reviewers need to be more attentive to their role and not to find and work loopholes for generating income. The program is to provide a product for those willing to provide a hopefully sincere and detailed review in order for the seller to gain a boost on getting their product noticed in Amazon's mighty market. Thank you.

I have literally just been invited to become a Vine reviewer a week ago. I was in the middle of writing a review for a Sit/Stand Desk that I had just bought and it flashed up asking me if I would like to Vine review member. Well I agreed because it took me months to decide on which Desk I wanted to buy and although I kept going back to the one I eventually bought, the fact that it only had a few reviews put me off. Also I had never heard of the company. I was glad I decided on the one I got and gave a good review because it was such good quality so I felt the Company deserved to have a review to help it in the future. So I do often leave reviews and am very excited about being part of Vine, however I can't always get the items I would like to receive but I think that will build with time.

As a vine reviewer, I provide photos and videos for 80% of my reviews. I look at it from the buyer side, what would I want to know about this product. Any delay in my reviews is caused by shipping or Amazon reviewing my review. I have seen up to 7 days for my review to go live, possibly because of the addition of a video. I hate giving bad reviews but when something is broken, missing parts or does not represent the seller’s advertisement, I knock stars off. I love the program and like to know I may help a buyer’s decision to buy or not buy a product.

DON'T REVIEW ANYTHING DEFECTIVE as you WILL HAVE THE ETV put against you by AMAZON., unless you have a separate income that you can itemize with and can use your donation slips with.

Numbers, numbers, numbers. This was a terrible interview - just soundbite after soundbite.
