Amazon Welder, connecting the Argon Gas. It works :)

I’m using a Victor regulator which is available online. This is not the regulator that is provided with the Amazon welder. I can’t comment on using that one. I can recommend the one I’m using. It’s been rock solid since I’ve had it.

hi! just wondering what setting you use on your amazon machine for gold filled and for sterling silver when using argon gas (power and time). also what you recommend for keeping your regulator setting at. Thank you! your videos are so helpful

Hi Chloe ! Thank you for the appreciation I've learned so much on KZbin over the years I'm just trying to give back :). So your question is a tricky one, but simply put I will say I use the same settings for my metals regardless of Argon. In general, gold-filled 22g I run 2/3 (Power/time), 24g I run 1/3. Sterling I run about the same, but usually less power if I'm on the fence. The gas time I leave at .5 secs, its enough In my opinion, and about the same as the Orion. My regulator is set at 7 psi. I do not recommend using the Amazon regulator, buy the Victor I use in this video, or something comparable. The reason settings are tricky, is bc as your electrode starts to get dirty, I find more power is needed. Also if you blunt the electrode slightly, more power is needed. It's subtle but noticeable. The best thing to do is grind your electrode often, so you can try and achieve consistency with your welds/settings/materials.

Hello, congratulations for the videos. Do you use a magnifying glass to zoom in on very small parts? Some models from Orion and Lampart have a microscope together, this one from amazon does not, and I think it can make micro soldering difficult. Hugs from Brazil

Hugs back from California! Yes absolutely you need a magnifying glass and light. I use a gooseneck version with 5x magnification. I also have the Orion with microscope. It’s the best setup I’ve used. But of course it’s 10x the cost of this machine and a $30 magnifying lamp.

Hello it’s me again sorry so many questions but how do you like it without the gas? I’m just nervous and new at this. Does the gas help with the spark or is there not really a spark when working with jump rings? Thank you for your help

Without gas it’s just more of a pain bc your electrode will need to be ground /clean more often. The gas has nothing to do with the spark. Yes there is always some type of spark with arc welding. Sometimes it’s very small on the lowest setting. But wear at least shade 5 welding glasses no matter what.

How do you get the tubing to seat in the inlet of the machine tightly? I seem to get a small leak on mine which depleted my tank quick.

I used a 1/4” hose which is larger than the 6mm inlet on the Amazon machine. It’s tight but works. I did this bc my regulator takes this size hose.

You mean the argon gas tube ? I use 1/4” hose bc that’s what the victor regulator takes. The machine takes metric but it fits. You can get it on Amazon. Search pneumatic hose 1/4” OD
