I worried the neighbors in my apartment would be annoyed by the echoey noise coming from my bathroom and so I used the styrofoam that the Zeny shipped in, molded to the shape of its base as kind of a shock absorber. I think it made a difference.

I had the same concern; what I did to minimize the noise was to use one of those foam tiles on Amazon: I cut 1 of the foam tiles to fit onto the metal stand; It blocks out the noise and it makes the stand much more sturdy: 🌠 amzn.to/48sK1Bz I bought these foam tiles about four years ago; and all you need is one tile:

That's a really good idea, keep the foam base from the packaging, I did the same with the new similar style machine I received today, does a good job.

You rarely need more soap. Most people over soap, and your clothes do not get cleaner. Try less soap, more water. Your clothes will get cleaner.

Great overview of this type of washing machine! Baking soda and vinegar are both great for laundry, but they need to be used separately. Baking soda is alkaline and is helpful during the wash cycle. Vinegar is acidic and helps to remove soap residue during the rinse cycle. If both are used at the same time, one will negate the other.

Thanks for the knowledge: I now use Borax and Super Washing Soda by Arm&Hammer to wash my clothes: towards the end of my wash cycle I add a little bit of white vinegar:

I have a very similar portable washer. I've had it for two years now. I love it. you have to understand it if for SMALL loads, it isn't meant for everyday use, you should use HOT water in it. You should NEVER use a lot of soap when washing clothes. Less is better and your clothes will get cleaner without leaving residue on your clothes. With these little washers, you only a about a tablespoon of liquid detergent. I use powered detergent and use just a tiny bit. I have to say the brand I bought is far quieter than this one.

In most models no. The machine has be set on drain to use the spinner (dryer) and that also drains the washer.

I haven’t noticed a burning rubber smell; I noticed it smelled a little like plastic when I first used the product: the soap removed the smell: Is the Machine making any loud noises with the burning rubber smell?

You could also use washing soda. That would be sodium carbonate, whereas baking soda is sodium bicarbonate

The washing machine is considered plastic; Nevertheless the washing machine motor is truly high-powered; I can positively examine that it cleans my clothes better than going to my local laundry mat: Furthermore; when I lived with my mother; I had a metal washing machine and dryer; I can say confidently that this plastic washing machine cleans my clothes 10x better:
