I recently discover that this ship is the very first of the Lirica class, from which all other 4 ships are owned by MSC. It's fascinating to see that this one, built prior to the four others and also the smallest, is still in service nowadays. And it looks very good. Thanks for the tour !

I'm not sold on these massive so called cruise ships. Cruises have always been about visiting places & whilst sailing you can relax, talk or not & eat. These big ones don't do a lot of stops as they want you spending on board. They are like container ships, 4000+ guests, 1500 staff. Ambassador cruise ships look like it says, it won't be perfect but they will try to.

I worked on Royal Caribbean and Princess, even though Ambassador doesn’t compare in size or amenities, I’m still quite impressed with this ship.

The best part about this ship being someone from the north east is i can travel 15 miles to south shields and get on it to go on a norway cruise whereas before the only option was to go all the way to Southampton.

Absolutely with you on this. Getting to Southampton from up north is miserable. Early start and a long day, a _lot_ of extra cost, absolutely knackering, and you have it to look forward to all over again after your cruise!

Thank you! Sailing on this ship on Friday from Liverpool to Iceland. Actually reassured now - bit apprehensive about what to expect as the company had cancelled cruises on this ship last year.

That was due that at the last minute on Ambience they found a hairline facture in one of the lifeboat stations so they had to cancel for safety reasons the ship wss sent to germany and was repaired and so far ( from what ive read ambassador havent had problems with the ship since

@@danielannett1019 I was on Ambience for the cruise that never was. We were allowed to stay one night and had a fabulous dinner, entertainment and what turned out to be free drinks (plus of course 100% refund) so all in all I’ve had worse experiences and will definitely try Ambassador again.

I disembarked Ambtion on 18th July and found the ship very smart. It was good to have fixed dining as our waiters/waitresses got to know what we liked. Drinks very reasonable but had the top drinks package. I was concerned that cutlery in the buffet was just hanging on racks in the middle of tables rather than knives and forks wrapped in a napkin as with other cruise lines. It was constantly being topped up so those in the middle were used last and may jave been there for some time. Unfortunately both my Mum and I returned home with Covid picking it up either on the ship or out and about in Iceland.

The ship isn't particularly old. It was built in 1999. That makes it 24, ships can be in service for at least 40 years, so I'd say it's middle aged.

I love Ambassador too, but one thing you said are no longer true. You pay for the ice cream from the cart... £1.50 / scoop, but any cruise with any Ambassadoe ship is still a bargain!

At one time a ship this size was the largest cruise ship in the world. About the same size as the Carnival Triumph was. Oh, I like playing table tennis and going to the gym. No casino, oh no. I think the other Ambassador ship has a casino. The Purple Turtle, I like wine.

The "cruuse price" for what? A 7 night? A 14 night? A 39 night? Stop bring so daft, price per night is a very ordinary way of advertising prices. You don't book a holiday just on price so grow tf up.
