Hebrews 10 is talking about the Jews who were constantly feeling condemnation for their sins because they didn't believe that the one time sacrifice of Jesus wasn't enough to cover them. They kept bouncing back and forth thinking animal sacrifice was sufficient because of their key word "conscience". The wilful sun is not being assured that the sacrifice was enough.By that they trodden the Son of God underfoot. This is clear.

Thank you for this explanation. Since Yeshua saved me 9 years ago l have struggled with sexual sin and alcohol addiction both generational sins. Well meaning Christians said it's ok if you don't overcome because Yehovah see's your heart but it never sat right with me and l would feel bad ever time l repeated the sin's. People kept telling me that it's ok you are still saved and you will still make it to Heaven well they were only half right. l would read scripture and get chills at some of the warnings thanks to the indwelling Ruach HaKodesh (my favorite name for The Holy Spirit). I never relinquished my belief that Yeshua is the only way to Heaven even though the adversary would whisper in my ear give up it's just too hard. Then about 2 weeks ago The Ruach HaKodesh showed me l was trying to win the battle myself and that l had fallen into legalism and l needed to give up my struggles because Yeshua had already won the battle and overcome the world and l can appropriate that by faith and the battle belongs to the Lord. Now when the temptations come l pray simple prayers to The Lord and agree with Him that l am free and say out loud that if there are any oppressive spirits trying to tempt me that angels can carry them to the pit. It's not easy at times because l am praying against what my flesh wants but l remind myself of the horrendous price my savior paid for me to be eternally with Him and not eternally lost and how great it feels to have a clear conscience before The Father and the peace of knowing that l am on my way to Heaven I would not trade that for sin. The devil is a lair and unfortunately very good at it thats why he is called the evil genius of this world. God bless anyone who may read this and is struggling. Father is not angry at you and wants you free just don't give up on Him and He won't give up on you. With Love ~ David

Ellen Mendoza It’s a scripture Romans 5:20, ‘Where sin abounds, grace abounds much more’ and it actually means the opposite of what you are saying some people do. It means that God’s Grace is greater than the power of sin. Often if there is an area of sinful activity, the greater it is, the greater will be God’s Grace to overcome it.

It really isn't about "losing" salvation. It's about not completing it. This is why Paul in Philippians 2:12 exhorted his readers, "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." But what exactly is he saying? Is he saying that we are saved through works? No, he is not. We have been saved by grace througb faith. How then do we "work out our salvation? The answer to that can be found in John 15:5, where Jesus teaches that we are to ABIDE in Him, "For apart from Me you can do nothing. This is why in Hebrews 3:12-14 we read: "Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today" that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, IF indeed we HOLD to our original confidence firm to the end." Why would Paul have given a warning such as this to believers UNLESS it is indeed possible for a believer to fall away eternally? The answer is that if it were not possible for us to fall away eternally, he would never have had to give us such a warning in the first place. Paul is not talking here about something purely hypothetical! God did not turn us into robots when we were saved! He left our free will intact, and we still can choose to abide in Jesus or to walk away from Him completely. As long as we are willing to return to Jesus, He will always accept us. We are given this warning, however, because of the increasing hardening of the heart that sin can produce the longer we stay in a fallen away state. If we roll around in the mud long enough, we may reach the point where we will prefer to remain in it, and if we die in that state, the consequences could be very dark! We can't be saved one minute and lost the next. It is about the way we live out our life from the moment of salvation onward. It's about ABIDING in Jesus from the point of salvation until we leave our earthly body. Yes, we all stumble and at times may fall way for a season, but we must remain diligently aware of how subtly and deceitfully sin can ensnare us! The Devil plays for keeps! Don't stay in the mud! ABIDING in Jesus is how we "work out our salvation," how we LIVE out our salvation to COMPLETION.

This is so beautiful. I have been saying this for a little while now to others that you do not lose salvation, but instead you can walk away and stray from the path to eternal life from our very own disobedient actions. You see, if you continue to live a sinful life, all it means is that you didn't truly repent in the first place which in turn means that you were never truly saved. So brothers and sisters, let's try and seek our own salvation with fear and trembling like the word says by staying the course and keep looking at that cross until we reach the finish line and get our reward. May as many of us be saved and rejoice together in cheer on that precious day we meet The Lord in the air, amen. Thank you Jared! I really appreciate and love you brother.

The sermon on the mount was directed at the Jews for the millennial reign. Not for gentiles living in the age of grace. You need to rightly divide the word of truth (Bible). There is a difference between "The Kingdom of Heaven" and "The Kingdom of God." Jews were promised a kingdom on earth, the Chruch was promised heaven. During the millennial reign Satan will be thrown into the pit, and Christ will rule on earth, but those on earth when Christ returns will not have a sinless new glorified body. They will be required to live sinless lives. That's why he teaches the Jews, "be holy, for I am holy. That is what will be expected of the Jews living in that time. Dogmutty2 is right, doing the will of the father at this time is solely believing on Son and his finished work on the cross, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Question: "Does Hebrews 10:26 mean that a believer can lose salvation?" Answer: “For if we are willfully sinning after receiving the full knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice concerning sins.” Hebrews 10:26-29 warns against the sin of apostasy. Apostasy is an intentional falling away or defection. Apostates are those who move toward Christ, right up to the edge of saving belief, who hear and understand the Gospel, and are on the verge of saving faith, but then reject what they have learned and turn away. These are people who are perhaps even aware of their sin and even make a profession of faith. But rather than going on to spiritual maturity, their interest in Christ begins to diminish, the things of the world have more attraction to them rather than less, and eventually they lose all desire for the things of God and they turn away. The Lord illustrated these types of people in the second and third soils of Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23. These are those who “receive with joy” the things of the Lord, but who are drawn away by the cares of the world or turned off by difficulties they encounter because of Christ. “Willful sinning” in this passage carries the idea of consciously and deliberately rejecting Christ. To know God’s way, to hear it preached, to study it, to count oneself among the faithful, and then to turn away is to become apostate. Sinning willfully carries with it the idea of sinning continually and deliberately. Such a person does not sin because of ignorance, nor is he carried away by momentary temptations he is too weak to resist. The willful sinner sins because of an established way of thinking and acting which he has no desire to give up. The true believer, on the other hand, is one who lapses into sin and loses temporary fellowship with God. But he will eventually come back to God in repentance because his heavenly Father will continually woo and convict him until he can’t stay away any longer. The true apostate will continue to sin, deliberately, willingly and with abandon. John tells us that “No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him and he cannot sin, because he is born of God” (1 John 3:9). Apostates have knowledge, but no application of that knowledge. They can be found in the presence of the light of Christ, mostly in the church, among God’s people. Judas Iscariot is the perfect example-he had knowledge but he lacked true faith. No other rejector of the truth had more or better exposure to the love and grace of God than Judas. He was part of Jesus’ inner circle of disciples, eating, sleeping, and traveling with Him for years. He saw the miracles and heard the words of God from Jesus’ very lips, from the best preacher the world has ever known, and yet he not only turned away but was instrumental in the plot to kill Jesus. Having turned his back on the truth, and with full knowledge choosing to willfully and continually sin, the apostate is then beyond salvation because he has rejected the one true sacrifice for sins: the Lord Jesus Christ. If Christ’s sacrifice is rejected, then all hope of salvation is gone. To turn away willfully from this sacrifice leaves no sacrifice; it leaves only sin, the penalty for which is eternal death. This passage is not speaking of a believer who falls away, but rather someone who may claim to be a believer, but truly is not. Anyone who apostatizes is proving he never had genuine faith to begin with (1 John 2:19). From the website got questions

Brother please answer this because I’m curious, what about Hebrews 6, it talks about apostates who have “shared in the Holy Spirit” but aren’t only truly saved people ones with the Holy Spirit ? “It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, nd have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come” Hebrews 6:4/5/6
@kevindrake7144 жыл бұрын
What is the sin spoken of in Hebrews 10:26? by Matt Slick Heb. 10:26 says, “For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins.” The book of Hebrews was, of course, written to the Hebrew people. Though the author of Hebrews is unknown (many suspect it was Paul), the writer obviously had an exhaustive knowledge of the Old Testament since a great many Old Testament themes and citations are used. Therefore, it seems that the writer of Hebrews is addressing those Jews who had knowledge not only the Old Testament but also of the work of Christ. The Jews of Jesus’ time had seen Him carry out His ministry. They knew of the miracles and of the teachings of Jesus. Undoubtedly they had encountered Christ's disciples and/or the apostles and had received the knowledge of the truth about Jesus, His being the Messiah, His sacrifice on the cross, and His resurrection from the dead. Therefore, to go on sinning willfully after receiving such knowledge means that the Jews would be rejecting the sacrifice of Christ. Therefore, there is no sacrifice for sins that remain -- because that is the only sacrifice God had provided by which anyone could be saved. So, those who deliberately reject Jesus as the Messiah have no remaining sacrifice for their sins. Can a Christian be guilty of Heb. 10:26? Can a Christian commit such willful sin that he no longer has a sacrifice for sins? The answer is no, since Jesus has told us in John 10:27-28 that all to whom He has given eternal life will never perish. Also, 1 John 2:19 says that those who leave the faith were never believers to begin with. So again, Hebrews 10:26 is most probably discussing the issue of the Hebrews who knew full well who Christ was, as well as His work and sacrifice, and yet continued to walk in their sinful and rebellious ways by rejecting the sacrifice that God had provided.

@@kevindrake714 I get Hebrews 10, I’m taking about Hebrews 6 “shared in the Holy Spirit” ? So who is he referring to because clearly unsaved Jews don’t have the Holy Spirit just like unsaved gentiles don’t?

John 3:16 says the summary of how to be saved. You just need to have Faith and believe in Him. I think sinning deliberately means is you still choose sin as your master. If your conscience says that the sinful act youve done is wrong, you will have punishment but you are still saved. The worst scenario is if you cant distinguish what is good and what is evil

Well said, you explained it very clear. I just share, while i am listening to the video, the word repentance came to my mind, a truly renewed believer is when you repent, leave the sin behind, no turning back, people may stoned you by reminding your past sin, but trust in the Lord believe in Him and walk with faith that you finish the race, that you hurt no one.

Brothers and Sisters when i first became in Christ I was taught by Joseph Prince that onced saved always saved. I now see the truth. Many will say then they went to hell cuz they werent saved in the first place. This video has explained very well how salvation and making to the promise land are 2 different things. I think this is where many pastors confuse the issue where they tie salvation and promise land as one whole package. My heart tells me that you cant go on willfully sin and be a child of God. He has sacrifice so much for us. The least we could do is hold true to his word and not deliberately sin. Dont confuse this as working for your salvation but take it as maintaining your salvation. Praise the LORD. Amen.

A saved person can not lose their salvation because our salvation is based on the completed work of Jesus Christ, not by our own works. Ephesians 2:8-10 King James Version (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Hey Mr Month peace of Christ be with you What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? (James 2:14) Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. (james 2:17) And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. (1 Cor 13:2) For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (Gal 5:6) Faith requires love, faith alone will not save you Come to Christ God bless you
