Amber Heard does not represent me nor would I ever want her to. Watching her on the stand and throughout the trial really showcased how she was using the backs of actual victims of DV and SA to pull herself up. She abused Johnny she lied it was very clear. I felt it down to my bones; she acts just like my abusive mother. I am disgusted with Elaine and all the people that obviously didn’t watch the trial that still stands with Amber.

Elaine saying this is a setback for women is just insulting. Amber lying about abuse is a setback for all VICTIMS of SA. EVERYONE that has been a victim is hurt by false accusations. Not only women. The reason she lost is because it was proven she was the abuser. It's not saying people who are abused can't speak about it. It's saying you can't lie about being abused.

I disagree, Amber lying in court, showing the world exactly how many abusers and narcissists manipulate everyone else's reality is a win for all victims because it's now out in the open for everyone to clearly see. How cool is that?! However, when people keep saying it will be harder for victims the victims will believe that and think even harder before coming forward. Not because of Amber, but because of everyone telling them it will be even harder when it's not true. On the other hand, Johnny being a man, a celebrity, a wealthy man and a victim should make it easier for all victims, but people minimizing it will send a message to other victims that they are small too. It's really not what Amber or Johnny did at this point, it's about what everyone else is saying. Stop saying it's a setback when it can just as easily be a win and a step forward.

I’m sorry you went through that. My mother is eerily similar to AH in behavior and perspectives. She sent my dad to the ER with a serious shoulder injury and deep purple fingernail marks on him. She proclaimed pride in her behavior until she felt that the jury wasn’t sympathetic, then she pivoted to claims of attempted rape. And she was acquitted! (🤬) When I confronted her about lying she shrugged it off and told me I was overreacting. She picked fights just as we heard AH pick fights. When my dad would try to leave the situation, she would escalate things to prevent him leaving. They were together for 27 years. She made false claims against him to the police, his employer, and anyone else who would listen to her. And then there was her vengeance against him for daring to divorce her. (🫣) I’m glad JD was able to make his case to the court and the world. She exposed herself as the vile snake she is.

Elaine is so condradictory in everything she says: "The jury essentially is saying that abused women will need to pull out their phones and take pictures as evidence." Well, it was Amber and Johnny taking out their phones and it was their recorded conversations AND photographs that SUNK Amber. NOT, an absence of photos, but clearly doctored and deliberately mis-dated photos. Also, her photos did not match up with the intensity of the abuse she claimed. Add to that, the voice-recordings were absolute FACT that Johnny was indeed a victim. So, no, Elaine, the jury was essentially saying, "The fact that we HAVE recorded evidence shows us that this woman was lying." Elaine is twisting the truth, as she did throughout the entire trial, to further a flawed agenda.

Not to mention she claimed such horrific abuse in Australia that would have hospitalised her,and she took photos of mirrors and lamp shades and how beautiful the house was that they stayed in. Not even if the broken phone. But she took photos where she has the tiniest of "bruising" around her eyes when she's been punched in the face to many times she passed out. And claiming her scalp has been ripped off, which would have happened if he'd dragged her up the stairs. And no blood or redness in that photo. Just looked like a clean bald patch. And not even that bald. Not sure that was even amber's scalp. And the hair on the floor looked like extensions. It was all utter BS. I believe Johnny has to gran her a bs restrain her. But no where near abuse at all. She was the abuser. That audio of her in the car,not allowing him to go see his daughter. She was going on like, stop throwing me against the wall ect, and she said she was going to die😮 I think she thought that would be evidence for her. But we heard the context. She's a 🥜. Amber does not speak for us (women or DV/SA survivors). We do not want her speaking for us when she uses our _real_ pain and _real_ trauma to make up lies in order to ruin the life of *her* victim. That is so incredibly upsetting to hear repeated over and over again by her side and mainstream media outlets. My attacker may have been a man but I see far more of him in Amber's behavior and far more of myself in Johnny. Amber *does not* speak for us. We reject that notion en masse, not because we're some mindless Johnny Depp fans, but because we're survivors and she's not. She's an abuser, she and her lies are the reason women aren't believed, she's the worst of the abuse that men suffer at the hands of women. This verdict spoke for us more than Amber ever will have the right to and we rejoiced at that. And now Elaine and the media are trying to rewrite the history on that and it's despicable. This was not a step back for women or DV/SA victims, it was a step forward for both victims of DV (regardless of gender) and the truth. It was a step back for those who would lie on the stand in an attempt to ruin someone's life. Also: you wondered why it was televised, that was something that Johnny's team fought for because of how deceptively the media had been covering his case. They knew it was the only way the truth would ever make it out into the public. Judging by how abhorrently and deceptively media outlets like The Washington Post and NY Times are still covering this case I honestly think they were right to do so. I can only imagine how little accurate information we would have were it not coming directly to us from the source.

Elaine is refusing to hear anything that doesn't fit in with her belief system or agenda. It's noteworthy that the other members of AH's team are not out there trying to carry on AH's narrative but have been smart and are keeping a low profile. @@dalehammers4425 I'm not sure I agree, actually. Let's be clear up front that I'm certain that Johnny was the victim and Amber the abuser and that all her allegations are total crap and that she lied her ass off XD We probably agree on the contents of who is telling the truth and who isn't, my disagreement is solely on the point of what proved defamation. The point wasn't entirely about whether she wrote it about him or not, but whether others could reasonably come to that conclusion, which they did. Long before this suit was even filed people already understood that she was talking about Johnny. I feel like actual victims (which means NOT Amber XD) should be able to talk about their experiences but make sure that nobody can reasonably infer whom they're talking about. What sank her case was that she wrote "two years ago", which directly tied it to Johnny, and the fact that she went out very publicly and leaked that stuff to TMZ and made sure she got her bruise on the picture and didn't try to hide it etc. Everyone knew the op-ed was about him. If her abuse allegations hadn't been public, and she hadn't referred to a specific moment in time, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been defamation even if she had been talking about him because it couldn't have been linked to him. But the public already knew of her allegations due to the TMZ stuff and the public TRO filing. So writing an op-ed like that makes people put two and two together and figure out it's Johnny without mentioning him by name, and "two years ago" just makes it worse. So regardless of what she said about it on the stand, the proof that it was defamation was the fact that people knew the op-ed was about him, and thus that it harmed his reputation, plus the fact that she knew the allegations were false. Edit: I just remembered the fact that they tried to deny that she wrote it about him at first. And in that regard you're right that her admission on the stand sank the case, true.

The case NEEDED to be public because like Johnny said, he didn’t need her money. He wanted to prove that she’s a liar. Defamation cases are INSANELY hard to prove particularly since you have to show malice. This way whether or not the case was unable to prove it was definitely 0% truth (ie maybe some of the jury decided that Depp said something mean and that constitutes abuse), the world still sees what she did. The case was never technically about who abused who, it was about defamation. This way everyone gets the facts and regardless of the verdict we all got to see her stumble over her own lies on the stand.

This is an incredibly important distinction. I've heard so many people say that it was a DV case, &while it included elements of alleged DV/SA, that's false; this was a defamation case. I've also heard many complain about "well why isn't she getting arrested for lying about such a henious crime" which can also be answered by the fact that this was a civil case on defamation, not a criminal case. It's unfortunate, but that's how it goes.

Defamation case is hard to prove because in most of the case it only relates to some false statements that somebody made about somebody else. You have to prove that they knew it was a false statement when they made it, and their intention was malicious. But in this case, once they knew Amber lied under oath about him beating her up and sexual assault, that added burden of them proving that she knew that it was a false statement was automatically not necessary. And anyone would only lie about something like that if they had malicious intentions.

After listening to the hours upon hours of the tapes online I not one time heard JD being abusive to AH. He sent really ugly text messages about AH to his friends and security but not directly to her. He yelled at her many times while he was trying to leave the room or penthouse or hotel, I also listened to the recording on Australia with the finger incident. She admitted to throwing that bottle. Did she intend to hit his hand, I don’t believe so but just admit what you did and apologize and move on. JD was stupid for thinking someone like AH would be any anything from him but to use him for her own personal gains. So many lies came out of her mouth. JD wasn’t innocent but he, in my opinion, based on everything I heard, says he was far less abusive and when he caused injury to her he said owned it in court. The black eye from when he grabbed her to pull her close to make her stop hitting him and his chin hit her cheek. Stupid because he shouldn’t have touched her in any way. The door and her toes. Even though he was trying to protect himself from her he felt bad for the door going over her toes. He owned his crap. She still wants to blame everyone else just like in court where she did say everyone except herself was lying. Her witnesses couldn’t even tell the correct story that she wanted them to tell. Rocky, her sister, Josh Drew acted like he was the closest to honest and he didn’t want to be doing that deposition. AH deserved that loss and all DV and SA victims need to be vocal and let her know she doesn’t speak for anyone else. She was obviously rude and unprofessional throughout the trial. I never understood why people felt bad for her. Yes, shes just doing her job; and yes, I imagine trying to defend someone like AH would be extremely difficult and frustrating, but she still acted like a petulant child and deserved much of the criticism she received. Obviously threats and stuff is never acceptable- not even against Amber, let alone her lawyer- but the criticism pitched against Elaine's was generally well earned.

I'm with you, that was hard to tolerate. Kudos to the interviewer for calling her out on personal accountability. So many things wrong with the whole thing. The UK case wasn't against AH. It was against a tabloid. The tabloid has a much lower threshold for vetting their story. Unless they knew AH was lying they had every right to print the story they were given. Amber is not believable. We literally listened to her verbally abuse JD, admit to hitting him. Its in the recording. We heard it. So to sit there and say no abuse from AH is not only a lie but one with zero credibility. This lawyer just wants to keep charging AH more more money for the appeal so she keeps up the charade. The reason it was on camera was because JD's true goal was to redeem his character and reputation for the whole world. A closed trial wouldn't do that even if he still won.

Throughout this entire trial, I felt bad for Elaine knowing that most people would hate her just because of who she was representing. Because of this, I never had any issues with her. But after seeing those interviews, I was extremely disappointed and at times very mad. Forget whether Johnny or Amber is innocent or guilty, forget their entire case really, the fact that Elaine mentioned all this evidence that supposedly should have been allowed is just insulting to the judge and the rules they have in place which determines whether evidence is admissible or not. She essentially blamed the judge and accused her of bias by saying that there was evidence that should’ve been admissible. There is always a bunch of evidence from both sides that is declared inadmissible in any trial. I found the fact that she basically called out the judge extremely unprofessional and disappointing. That poor judge did an incredible job at dealing with this circus and definitely did all she could to be fair. The other thing that made me mad was when Elaine accused the jury of looking at social media or having their family inform them of what is going on. Jurors take an oath, and they take it extremely seriously. Jurors already have this extremely serious job of deciding peoples fate, they aren’t going to just take that lightly. Elaine basically accused the jury of perjury. In just 2 interviews, she not only blames everyone else, but she accuses the judge and jury of what is essentially crimes. It was hard to hear her talk about this “massive setback” for women of DV and hear her blame everyone else and admit no issues on her team or Amber’s part, but it was infuriating to hear her blame the judge and jury. Extremely unprofessional. She could’ve continued to defend her client without condemning the judge and jury. Very disappointing.

During the trial Elaine has shown herself already to be very sketchy to this sort of stuff. One quote I remember is when she aksed the tmz reporter that took the stand for johnny if 'this was going to bring him (the reporter) his 15 minutes of fame' because johmny was a high profile person. She was already really going for low blows diring the trial alongside with mr. Rottenborn and hearing this interview just cemented my opinion of her. Nevermind the fact that johmny has been called a wife beater for years, was dragged through the courts all this time, and was told by amber herself that 'no one would believe him' and has had his career and possibly some personal relationships ruined because of amber. Thats why it annoyed me when she said amber was 'getting death threats' too. She is feeling what johnny has been for years now because she wanted to drag his name out for as long as possible. And if she didkt post that op ed to restab the knife and show herself as a saint none of this would have happened. Its one thing to defend someone like that on the srand but to go out and continue to stick your neck out for them by fabricating the facts of a highly publicised trial is downrgith devious.

They feel genuinely justified in their behaviour because they are narcissists. And then when the abused finally speaks up or lashes out or tries to defend themselves, they immediately victimise themselves as if they haven’t been doing the exact same thing and much much worse. Narcissistic abusers are so blind to their own behaviour and Amber is the perfect example of this. Abuse and denial abuse and denial abuse and denial. People like this will DESTROY you.

I even had a minute amount of pity for Elaine throughout the trial but here she proved she's just as bad and manipulative as her client. They really do have the same holier-than-thou attitude going, nothing is their fault, everything is JD and social media and the jury and the damn court that discarded their mountain of useless evidence. It's not like they lost because AH is a fraud and proved it well on her own on the stand every time she opened her mouth. Nope. It's JD alright, he somehow paid and organized hundreds of millions of people to side with him and that got the jury on his side too. That and their continuous mindset of claiming their loss affects women (and ONLY women...) in some sort of negative way is just disgusting. She lost because she lied, and the only message it sent is 'don't go lying to court about something that didn't happen'. How is that sending the wrong message? Get outta here, Elaine.

The trial certainly showed the world how women can abuse a man - verbally, emotionally and physically. There is such a thing as toxic masculinity. There is also such a thing as toxic femininity. This trial has exposed the latter, and people who are still bleating that women possibly cannot be abusers are basically siding with and enabling abusers. But decent, reasonable people saw the truth: Amber Heard is a serial abuser and a perjurer, and lost the case because her lies and malicious intent were exposed.

I’m a DV survivor and now a family law attorney…. As an attorney, I cannot FATHOM going on a press tour (like Elaine) after such a short period of time… I can understand the need to buy into your client’s version of events in order to go to trial on a case, but then to take ZERO time to reflect on what she could’ve done differently speaks volumes to me… I need weeks, even months, after a short trial in order to dissociate from advocacy and to go back into logic mode and think through what I could’ve done differently. As a DV survivor (although I prefer to call it a post-thriver) I saw through every second of AH’s testimony and could identify 100% with JP’s version of events. Those marks? It’s called defensive wounds. Anyone and everyone ever physically assaulted is going to fight back in some way, shape, or form. AH was so transparent and obvious in her attempted manipulation of the situation it made me sick. I’m so glad the truth is out there now, and I hope other survivors are not disheartened by this verdict. The TRUTH WON HERE!!!

Before watching this video in it's entirety, I really want to say something. I was called for jury duty this week. I was selected as a group of 20 to go into a courtroom for the jury selection process. I was then selected to join a jury. As of yesterday I'm now allowed to talk about the case. We were to decide if the defendant had committed 4th degree assault. In the beginning, we heard testimony from the alleged victim, the ex girlfriend of the defendant. Then we heard an audio recording of a 911 call. Then we heard testimony from 2 separate police officers. The defendant declined to take the stand. From the discrepancies in the ex girlfriend's story and the police officers stories, I was the sole member of the jury on the first day of deliberations to call him not guilty. On day 2 of deliberations I had a couple of people on my side, with the discrepancies and the lack of evidence, and the letter of the law as written in the instructions from the judge to us as jurors. On the third and final day of deliberation, we were split 4 saying not guilty, 2 saying guilty, and we presented to the judge that we did not think that even given a reasonable time period we would ever all agree unanimously. We were a hung jury. We were released. At the end of the case, the judge said we could talk to the attorneys if we wanted to or we could leave and we all stayed to talk for a bit. At one point one of the jurors asked if we could talk to the defendant and he said it was ok if he was ok with it. We were getting told to leave so that they could clean the courtroom and I and another juror were talking to the defendant as we were leaving and I asked what happened to him now, if he didn't mind my asking and he said they could file for a retrial within 90 days. I said something about "what was the deal with the shoes?" Because in part of the testimony from his ex she had said there were shoes all over the floor. He told me there weren't. She made it up. Then he proceeded to tell me a story about what happened from his side. His side made so much sense. It lined up with the police officers testimony. It filled in the missing gaps in the story. I told him if they go back to trial, he should work on his confidence to tell his story with his attorney because without a doubt if we had heard that story, the deliberations would have gone a completely different way. The prosecution was using his height and size vs her height and size as something to look at. The police arrested him because he was the man in the argument. The presumption that because someone is a male, because someone is larger, that automatically makes them a threat... It needs to stop existing. He was being abused by her in his story. His timeline of events lined up with the police officers while hers didn't. If he'd testified, I've already said this but I'll say it again, there is zero doubt in my mind if he'd told the story he told me yesterday evening in the courtroom we would have all found him not guilty.

I understand that Elaine was trying to put out the fires raging over her client's loss but she did her no favors doing those interviews whatsoever. If anything, she made it worse. She dodged questions and pointed fingers and blamed literally everyone involved in the case that it was their fault that Amber lost when in fact it was her client's lies that made her lose the case. I don't know of anyone who was in a domestic abuse relationship that purposely egged on their partner to fight if they were afraid of them. The last thing you do is try to engage in a fight and chase them down, bang on doors and get in their face, and not let them leave a room. The person who leaves the room to avoid a fight and locks themselves into another room to avoid a fight is the abused person. That is what he had to do to get away from her. I know because I was in that situation before. She LIED and tried to screw him over because she didn't get what she wanted from him while they were together and got caught. Period. I feel bad that it took this long for everyone to believe it and all the skeletons had to come out of the closet. No one wants to admit to the literal world how bad of a substance issue you had but it was the only way to get his life back. All I want to see is that they both can just leave each other alone (mainly her because she's the lying instigator) and get on with their lives. He can go back to his great movie roles and rock out with his friends on tour and maybe she can just grow up and focus on being a good mom and role model for her daughter. Being a teenage bully doesn't fit for a 30-something-year-old woman.

Just sit there, take all the verbal and the physical abuse and just keep quiet and hide every single time and not do anything to vent off his frustration? It was clear that he did throw things, not at people though, he did talk back, he did shout and drink and do drugs and had tantrums from time to time, but after seeing and listening to how she taunted, beat and tortured him mentally while fcking him up more by constantly convincing him that she loves him and using the man's feelings for her to leech off of him even after all the abuse that she did.

Beyond verbal arguments that every couple has, usually instigated by her, he never took his anger out on her. In the uk AH was a witness, the question was about if the sun had enough evidence to believe what they printed was true, it wasn’t about the actual truth. a lot less evidence came into that trial, the judge dismissed a lot of JDs arguments because of his drug use, and also heavily favored AH because they thought she had donated the money and it came out after the trial she hadn’t. So she lied there too. They are not the same trial, AH didn’t win because she wasn’t a party. They are completely misrepresenting it and it’s gross.

Considering how mainstream media is clearly not reporting the facts of what actually happened, it's such a good job this was televised. It was the Judge herself who made the motion to televise the trial. Depp's side did not object, Heards side did. The Judge heard their responses and granted her own motion (as is her right) to go ahead and televise

Initially during the trial I almost felt bad for Elaine. I thought, "Wow, she got handed a shit case where Amber is clearly lying and Elaine has to try and construct a viable trial from this web of lies Amber has gotten them into. She's working with a failing case and trying to maintain her dignity as a lawyer." Now, I see that she is just as deluded as Amber is to think that the jury is so stupid as to not be able to form their own opinions about what happened when presented the evidence. I'm a woman who has been fortunate to never be abused, and yes, I think both Johnny and Amber were abusive/toxic in the relationship, but Amber is clearly worse, and to act like Amber is some martyr for women is disgusting.

@@dalehammers4425 No, I realize. I suppose what I meant was that while she chose the case and could have walked away from it, she chose to continue the case but the case she got from the choice she made was a shit show. Amber Heard's friend lied to her attorneys about one of the witnesses and got her testimony stricken from the record. The same friend who was banned from the courtroom for not following the judge's rules about using cellphones in the court. They tried everything they could to discredit Johnny Depp and the fact that they are still slinging mud at him after losing in court shows the kind of character they and/or their client has. I will admit I haven't seen the interview done by Johnny's lawyers yet but I doubt they started bashing Amber Heard even though they just proved in court that she is a liar.

I feel like the very rare people who side up with Amber never listened to the recordings. She ridiculed him for claiming he was a victim of DV simply because he's a man. She admitted to initiating physical fights. What victim of DV would initiate a physical fight with their abuser? She's the setback for women, the verdict isn't. I don't even understand how Elaine is allowed to keep claiming Johnny Depp abused Amber on national TV when the evidence has proven the opposite. She doesn't have a verdict to support her claims. It's upsetting.

I really tried to not be hard on her because I knew she had a difficult client. And especially felt sympathy for Amber's legal team when she threw them (predictably) under the bus. This has gone too far though. All Elaine had to do was shut her mouth if she wanted to preserve her reputation. A simple "I'm disappointed with the verdict" would've been 100% ok. As to why she would go so hard for someone who put her legal team on the spot is beyond me. Gotta appreciate her conviction, at least...

I think it would probably harm her reputation more to come out against Amber at this point, you don't want to be known as the lawyer that talks bad about your clients after they lose. Elaine is the only lawyer among AH's lawyers who started doing the interview rounds. The others seem way smarter and are keeping a low profile. Elaine comes across as sour grapes, bitter, and refusing to look at her own incompetent behaviours during the trial. She has chosen to keep supporting a proven liar, abuser and perjurer. Looks like AH was successful in gaslighting her. Now Elaine will be forever remembered as AH's flying monkey.
