Been a Nelons fan for life. I'm a 51 year old pastor, and son of a pastor.- and my dad pastored the Pentecostal Holiness Church in 96 SC from 1972-1982 where I grew up. In 1973- 1974 the Lefevres came, AND Rex Nelon was the bass. Our church fell in love with them. The next year we had them back, AND the group had been passed down to Rex, AND now they were the Rex Nelon singers. We had no idea what to expect because Rex was the only familiar face. BUT my Dad loved Rex Nelon. IT was Janet Pascal, Kelly Nelon, who was 14 yrs old, AND I can't remember the Tenors name, little short guy full of spunk; *Mr Bass* Rex Nelon; AND A GREAT band! THEY BLEW US AWAY!!! WE had never heard A Soprano like Janet Pascal! I was 10 years old on the front row just soaking it up!!! SO, from 1975 till probably 2012-- they came every year and packed out the house! NOW, in 2017, Amber, her sister, AND parents have taken it to a whole new level, AND can sing any style and in any genre. She could have won Idol hands down! And I see a promising solo career with Amber and her sister in country, contemporary gospel, and even r n b. One more thing and I'm done-- MOST OF ALL, THEY LIVE WHAT THE SING!!! THEY ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL ON THE INSIDE AND OUT -- AND HAVE GREAT SONGS AND ARE GREATLY ANOINTED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT--(THAT'S WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE!!!!) GOD BLESS YOU-- AND THE NELONS ARE JUST STARTING, THE BEST IS YET TO COME! AND HER GRANDFATHER REX NELON WAS, AND FOR WILL EVER BE A LEGEND IN GOSPEL MUSIC, AND A 1ST CLASS ACT!!! BJB

I met Amber and the Nelons at a Traci Stuffle benefit show. I asked her" 2005 Torch collaboration. We shall wear a robe and crown. Was that you?" She said yes. So...she played a part in getting me hooked on sogo!

If I had won I would never leave Southern Gospel.... be glad you did not continue... how many famous people in the world's music business began singing in church? God gave them talent to use for Him and His Church and the real desire of their heart was to be famous and rich. They said they would stay true to their roots and share the good news about the Lord Jesus but that soon faded. Elvis, Whitney Houston, Britney, Katy Perry and on and on.... Some died young from excess, some became Hollywood sluts, they sold out. Satan offered the world to Christ and He turned it down to go to the cross.
