Amber perfume

Noteworthy ambers that i did not talk about in the video, but should be tested:

No, it's not "all about amber", but just me talking about one of my favourite perfume families.

Hi Mr (s) my very first amber was from a local Melbourne house here in Australia and that was amber absolut by Fort and manle a very nice amber love it so much. I also have l'air desert marocain one of my favorites love that dry amber smell too. Thanks for the video good one.✋

Yellow Amber is a fantasy note. Yes, you're right. You have to create an accord which creates that warm, golden resinous "feeling" And then added to other materials to give it subtle nuances of different notes. Ambergris is like whale halitosis but sweeter with nuances of seaweed or salty beach. Ambergris is used as a real perfume ingredient as a tincture, which is extremely expensive, or as a synthetic material. Ambroxan is a good example. Its a "type" of Ambergris. The Ambergris accord I have is beautiful and sweet. Almost a perfume in itself. Ambergris is used alot for projection, diffusion and longevity. Hence the popularity of Ambroxan in many mass produced fragrances.

To me Ambre Loup is in the top tier of labdanum-heavy ambers and Grand Soir in the vanillic-benzoin heavy ambers. However, Absolue Pour Le Soir sets the bar high for ambers and what can be achieved based on that accord. I blind bought it based on your review and couldn't be happier.

Great Amber review! I watched it twice. I finally got a decant of LADDM and am glad I didn't get a full bottle. For me, the hype did not match my expectations. And that undying incense note tends to drill an olfactive hole in my nose. From your review and what I've heard elsewhere, since I love Ambre Sultan, the sultan of scents, Ambre Russe will be a blind buy for me. Thank you!

I really love Amber accord in fragrances. Pep, you really should try Grand Soir. It’s one of my favorites. It’s at least worth owning a decant in my opinion. There are so many I haven’t tried either. I’ve actually never tried Ambre Sultan but I think I did order a sample with one of my orders recently. I have a decant of Ambre 114 and I have Parfums Nicolai Ambre Cashmere Intense wrapped under the tree. 😉 I’ll check out the others you mentioned.

The longer, the better. This was such an enjoyable watch. Having tried so many great amber perfumes this year, Grand Soir, which I only smelled a couple of weeks ago, fell a little flat in comparison. But definitely try it and please let me know if you get Ambre Nuit vibes at some stages or if I am just fantasizing.

As a Grand Soir lover, I must say that you should get your nose on a sample. After what you have experienced, this is not a must buy, but a must try, which could change after you smell it. I've only tried a few Ambers, and my fave (so far) is Ambre Precieux (WOW!). My top 3 would be Ambre Precieux, L'air Du Desert Marocain and Grand Soir (but I have so many more on my 'To Smell' list).

I love amber. Some of my favorites are Armani Prive Ambre Eccentrico, Issey Miyake Ambre Noir and Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Amber Sun...the benzoin in Gran Soir comes off my skin a bit too medicinal to make it to top 3, but it lasts fo 12+ hours.

Nice hearing from you...i have ambre sultan for Lutens for years but use it very rarely lately...you must try a very sensual and nice amber from Arabian oud it's Kalemate amber..

One of my favorite notes if not my favorite.... I have and love Grand Soir,Amber Essentrico,LDDM,Ambra Aurea.I want to sample Amber Loop and Amber 114 .From samples I have I'm testing Amber Precieux and Fort and Manly Amber Absolutely and I like the last best!

How do they classify “Amber” fragrances that are not sweet? I’m not a big fan of Syrupy sweet Ambers, (Heavy Benzoin or Vanilla) which tend to lean towards Gourmand territory. Spicy Fragrances such as Tobacco Vanille, Black Phantom, Carlisle, or Oajan have become favorites during colder months.

What a great list! I absolutely love a good amber. From the dense, resinous ones to the sugary sweet ones. I can highly recommend.. Essence No. 3 : Ambre from Elie Saab (it's almost solid it's so dense and resinous.. MFK creation.. the entire Essence line is phenomenal) Ambre Nomade from Elisire (like a softened Interlude Man draped in warm, liquid amber) Ambre d'Alexandrie from Boucheron (a definite sweet-tooth scent but very effervescent and with character, like Oajan without the cinnamon) Amber Malaki from Chopard (This is my go-to middle-of-the-road amber.. not too resinous, not too sweet.. it's my amber Goldilocks) Bijou Romantique from Etat Libre d'Orange (Not really an Ambre scent per-se.. more of a benzoin/vanilla wolf in sheep's clothing.. but it sings the same song)

One of my current favorite amber scents is Ambar del Sur from the house of Carner Barcelona. Not sure if you've tried that one yet or not. Take care and Merry Christmas.

Love Ambre Sultan. I really like Ambre Fetchie by Annick Goutal too. I have Rock Rose by Clive Christian . It's nice Love Ambre Loup . Don't know Lagereld Classic. Crazy huh. Will sample Have to get Absolue Pour le Soir Prada Intense is nice Fun stuff Pep.

I never comment on your video but i do watch your review. Now, what do you think of Fort & Manlé 'Amber Absolutely'? OMG. I loveeeeeee it i love it. its like amber and cognac mix together. And also 'Charlatan' from the same peoples. I really love their products. Base in Melbourne on top. How lucky we are where we do not need to pay for extra shipping and they are absolutely FORMIDABLE. What do I think of them? They are some nice smelling scents, but unfortunately do not last well on my skin. For the prices they are, they are wasted on me. Some smell good though.
