I have been playing with the Prada carnation. It is very strong and sweet to my inexperienced nose. I put it away for a while.I pulled it back out recently and did a light spray and enjoyed it very much so will keep experimenting with it. I have no idea how to buy used perfumes or sell mine so I mostly try and be careful with my purchases as I learn. Often as not this is not a success. I am learning what I like and what I dont though my fickle nose keeps changing. I am trying to understand the fragrance that I have but am still prone to an impulse buy, I have a birthday coming up and of course feel am deserving of a fragrance treat, I am hesitant as to what that very expensive purchase should be. We all get to this point at some time or other, this year I've just concentrated on acquiring Serge Lutens fragrances, discontinued and current line. It worked for me as I wasn't totally satisfied with my previous approach of getting a fragrance I really wanted but would then soon be setting my target elsewhere, here, there or whichever. It's been a fruitful year and I'm really pleased with my purchases in my travels. Also I managed to offload some fragrances that I wasn't wearing, although beautiful I hardly felt the need to wear. Traversee du Bospore, Antonia's Flowers and Rauque to name a few. There's even a pleasure in reducing the collection which is something I never envisaged. Beautiful setting in this video.

What a beautiful backdrop. The overcast weather almost makes me forget the fact that if I ever set foot in Australia I’d melt instantaneously. To answer your question at the end, I’m new to the hobby this year and so I haven’t encountered the issue of decluttering yet. I’m trying to purchase things that I not only love, but would actively be excited to wear. The one exception to that would be the bottle of Equipage Geranium I just received, a blind-buy made in no small part because of this channel 😊 Luckily, I’m thrilled with it and I can’t wait for warmer weather to roll back around. I shudder to think about a future where I have to reactivate my Facebook to sell off things I’ve fallen out of love with. It’s hard to manage compulsive purchases. Lately, what I am doing is, as silly as may sound, I buy back up bottles of fragrances I am enjoying most. At my age, I am thinking more of: would I wear these fragrances in 5-10 years. Anyway. My additions this years were: Le Lion, Musc Ravageur, Habit Rouge (prive and Parfum). Some fragrances that left the collection: Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Elixir and Le Parfum, Dior Homme Sport 2017, Sauvage Elixir. Cheers

I agree, I dont like seeing bottles that I don't reach for very often. I'll eventually sell some on Ebay most likely but my nose could change a little and maybe I will enjoy some of them more if I just give it some time. I like to spray the ones I don't wear often on a blotter to smell throughout the day. To me, there's a limit to a collection because I want to wear the ones I enjoy often, not once every few months because I have too many to choose from if that makes sense.

Five brands that I adore but don’t get spoken about much but actually I’m more than happy to gatekeep!! : Pierre Guillaume - there is only one fragrance I’ve tried so far that I’m not keen on, everything else has become an obsession! Pierre’s other company - Phaedon. Pure Azure I often daydream about!! Liquides Imaginaires. Obviously Desert Suave will always be my one true love. And Liquide is my next to buy from them. Trudon, just because they are more well known for their candles and often their perfumes are overlooked. Thameen, they are spoken about but mainly about Peregrina and Carved Oud. But think some of their other perfumes need more attention. Floris is a good shout. I’ve been in their shop a couple of times in London. It’s like stepping back in time! Honey Oud is by far my fave from them.

In the summer I just adored it so much. I really want to try Absolu from Trudon, created by Antoine Lie, I can’t get over the amazing service I had from the new Trudon shop in London. There are a deep plethora of brands, that somehow keep going even though they are woefully underrepresented on social media (gives one pause that perhaps social media isnt the behemoth that we've all been lead to assume, hmm?), out there kicking ass with phenomenal sauces both classic and new. If I got a penny for every viddy I see that just goes over the new (or old) sauce from _____ I'd have many pennies.
