Everything that she sings she owns and kills. Her range and vocal skills never disappoints. I'm such a fan.

Such command and ownership of the part. Are there plans to (finally) send Dreamgirls back to Broadway? If so, keep Amber, collect massive box office and win those Tonys!!!!!!!!!!!

Am I the only one who thinks her voice is too clean for Effie? I like Amber, but to me Effie is supposed to be a church girl with raw talent (Like the original Jennifer Holliday) and Amber sounds like she's been taking vocal lessons since she was child. Does that make sense?

You didn’t like her (all) version of And Im Telling You cause i think her voice fits

But Amber has a church voice lol. Haven't you never watched glee and the gospel songs she sung there? Amber is crazy talented.

Well- Amber is a classically trained light-lyric soprano unlike Jennifer, but Amber is also just really good with other styles that it's easy not to remember that half the time

No Amber grew up in the church but I do understand what you mean by that.

The Effies Michael Bennett cast for national tours, understudies, and replacements during the original productions all had different voices. He loved that each woman who did Effie brought something different to the role the others didn’t. Some of the ladies didn’t do the raw, guttural screams like Jennifer Holliday did or like Amber is doing here, but rather had very clean voices with incredible breath control so they could belt and hold notes longer. Others were equally powerful but had higher vocal ranges so they would jump up an octave and hit notes the other ladies hadn’t been done before. I’ve heard several of the ladies who portrayed Effie in the past do this song and each one was unique with their own vocal flourishes that knocks your socks off. There are many different vocal approaches to Effie.
