Lost times when age didn't matter. Most performers were in their 50s or 60s on this show. And it is beautiful to watch.

Love these old shows. I grew up on Dean Martin music as my mom and dad bought his albums and I still have them. Petula's song came out when I was in high school.

Yes. I"m surprised to hear they were never shown over there. The Dean Martin Show was 9 years of pure genius and class. The odd thing is, is that Dean had MUCH better chemistry with Frank than he EVER did with Jerry Lewis.

DINO, not another singer who sings with expressions of the words he sings showing the songs words through the smooth expression of his looks, results songs with feelings. Todays singers, a mono tone only shown by the movements of their lips, and all sounding exactly the same no identities to define one from the other. Thank heavens for the singers from the 40s to the 80s. DINO A MASTER IN HIS CLASS.
@kathrynlayfield95997 ай бұрын
I agree, I wouldn't know who was singing if it wasn't announced on the radio. In the sixties, seventies, you knew the voice of the singers. Everyone has been homogenized and they all sound alike. Perfect notes, they just all sound alike. If a singer has any rough edges, they have all been smoothed out but not for the better!

The BIG question about this show is what did Dean Martin do behind Petula's back at 1.15:01 in. At this time in the recording we first see Petula smiling her gorgeous smile then all of a sudden we see her with pure shock on her face. WHY???? I have a jolly good idea. Do you????

I don't know about you, but for me, whenever I would not see Dean Martin not wearing a tuxedo, (much like in the supermarket scene,)to me it would seem to be kind of weird; because you would always see him in one; and/or expect him to be in one; as if that's all he had in his wardrobe; you would always see him wearing it on special occasions, invent, etc. etc. (That was just Dean). Anyway, at least we can honestly say, he was amongst the very few well dressed men in Hollywood. 🚬 , 🥃 , 🍷, ⛳ ,

Why does it always look that everyone is reading their lines on these American shows.
@darrenplumpton3551 Жыл бұрын
That is because they are. It is well known that Dean Martin never rehearsed his part in the shows and would turn up just to record them. His quest like Petula Clark would rehears their parts for the show and Dean would just show up out of the blue. So the producers would have to write all the dialogue down for Mr Martin to read there and then.
