Those Samurai's are awesome. I have one with those same tires on it and they go anywhere. I had a shackle lift on mine and they are terrible. 1st time out wheeling it. It broke the leaf spring completely off. If you notice the shackle is straight up and down so the spring takes all the flex. The shackles really need some angle to move with the spring to help with the ride. I put a Jeep YJ spring under mine. They are a little longer so you need to buy a kit that bolts right on then mount the new springs to the axles. What a difference. Next those motors are only like 78 cubic inches. There are all kinds of kits for them to put a Harker carb on, or even a 4 carb kit off like a Ninja motor bike. These all help pull steep angles as the float will over flow and flood the motor out on the original style carbs. Since the motor has no power I'm sure it has like 5.33 gears when the factory gears were like 3.73 so that's why the speedo is way off. You just need to change the gear in the transmission to get the speedo right. Next there is all kinds of steering components out there to get it to steer right. These things are really amazing off road. And there are kits to put the bigger tracker motor in and even small diesels. Just Google it and a ton of parts companies will come up. I have bought from Rocky Road, Low Range Off Road, Sord ( Sky off road design) Trail Tough and many others. Just do your research there is a million forums out there. Some are good some are bad. There are several things I would have done different. But since mine is off road only it's fine. For more road use I would change things. There is also some cool off road buggy kits out there. Check out Trail Tough page. Pirate off road has some great forums that can get you anywhere from the cheap to the crazy. Enjoy these will get you a whole new level off build you won't believe. Your little off road adventures where nothing. This thing can get you places like it is you won't believe. Then start building and the fun is unlimited. Feel free to contact me if you want. There are some super cool places up here to off road. Usually holiday weekends. Memorial, 4th of July, Father's day, Labor day. Have fun. Enjoy.

The transfer case doesn't seem to have a mount unless it's up top but the t case is at an odd angle. This can affect the shifting. I wish i could look over this truck to give proper advice. At any rate there is tons of info online about these and they can be made into an extremely capable, and fun rig and yes if you are tough a DAILY! If I'm not mistaking, blue top is marine deep cycle n yellow top is auto deep cycle. My yellow top in my 1990 toyota pickup has been going strong for 11 years now.

I've heard the quality is not the same since made in Mexico.

@@larrybe2900 so true, my yellow top in the toyota pickup was made in the USA, the red top in my Subaru only lasted 4 yrs n it was made in Mexico.

I have a 88 jx Samurai and it was just a regular Suzuki then I up graded it.I put a 2 inch lift kit,31 inch tires, torque cam,44 Weber carburetor, black horse racing header, front end stabilizer for easy driving and safety at 80 miles per hour😁and has lockers. The samurai original horsepower was 63hp and I have double that know and it's a monster and I can go places jeeps can't because it's smaller and more able because they are only 2000 pounds and I stripped off everything from my Suzuki that I didn't need like the air conditioning, back seat and etc.ps I run OPEN HEADER and no exhaust and its loud and sounds like a beast, wherever I go I get rubber necking and "puckered butts" from JEEP OWNERS.

LOL, it's covered in mud and dirt like it was found at the bottom of a lake, brakes, maybe, steering a suggestion, what's not broken is missing... and Amberghini has a crazy big smile on her face the whole time. JR, that girl has a lot of faith in your ability to make it perfect for her because clearly, that is all she sees when she looks at this heap.
