She said then that that's why she's buying size 4. She wants the dresses to be above the knee, at most knee length. She should just have a few custom made by a seemstress, it would save her money because she could actually wear them instead of buying 10 other dresses just to try on in a video.

I have struggled with my weight all of my life elementary & high school, and I’ve never really felt comfortable in my body and I absolutely hated going clothes shopping so I avoided it . I lost out on a lot of life experiences due to me being self-conscious about how I looked to myself let alone other people 😕 I’m really a palled by a lot of the comments what people are saying about her don’t think that we don’t think the same thing that you all are saying we repeat it over and over to ourselves daily . Yes, only we can change our life and make a change for the better, but sometimes were so much into our depression that we think why even bother . And then the last few months I did make a decision to make a change and I’ve lost 72 pounds so far but , it took me a long time to get over a lot of trauma that I experienced in my past so instead of tearing one another down, I wish the people would just start building people up and not be so quickly to pass judgment .

I don’t think it’s the color per se, I think it’s mostly the fabric and the size. The fabric isn’t stretchy so she had to actually order it in the correct size, therefore it’s not stretched over her rolls like a sausage casing

I feel sad watching this. On one hand, this is just a girl trying on some clothes and talking about them- making entirely sensible comments- “I love the sleeves on this”, “this is cosy”, “I like this print but I don’t like the fabric”- we’ve all had those experiences trying on clothes. Then there is the whole other side- the nervous laughter, the anxious plucking at the clothes, the constant movement, the repeated comments about “when I lose weight”. Sigh. This girl is clearly very unhappy and hates her weight, but equally feels powerless to change it. Being this fat is the result of food addiction- eating constantly to soothe psychological distress. Like any addiction, it’s not evidence of being a bad person- just of being a damaged person who lacks the skills to cope in more constructive ways. The problem for people this size, especially women, and being a black woman makes it worse, is that you can’t hide it, and people think it’s just fine to hate on you- as in so many comments here. This causes further distress…. leading to more eating. I am not excusing the delulu death cult that “fat acceptance/liberation” has become, just saying that an addict doesn’t deserve to be mocked for their addiction. Call obese people out for spreading lies that it’s healthy, or that it’s impossible to change, but not for just being obese. I think a lot of them have a lot of trauma to deal with if they are ever to control their eating, and dealing with trauma is hard.

But I'm fairly confident that it's all she's known, that she's pain-blind to it. It's just normal for her. But it'd be a hard existence.
