No, the Starset songs were NOT muted as expected. They were claimed, but it only asked for revenue share (and hilariously classified them as covers, not originals) which I'm more than happy to comply with. Plus it doesn't affect the video for all of you now. Win/win 🤘

I think it might be because Hypergryph fought for it. They originally weren't going to include Starset's portions in the video at all due to copyright (if you see the crowd during that portion, a lot of them have phones out and this is because they were actually given permission to film the Starset part, likely because they wanted it to be preserved somehow) but they actually got to keep it in the video

For the starset songs a few of them were used in the concept trailers for Arknights that you’ve reacted to, that’s why they feel familiar

What's pretty cool about this Ambience Synesthesia is that they recontextualized a lot of the songs. For example, the music playing when they flashed the Ursus icon was the Emperor's Blade theme from Walk in the Dust, so instead of associating that theme to one character, they associated it to the entire region, which is unironically fitting for the Will of Ursus. Same goes with Shining's theme (Winter Absolution) where they were instead showing the Sarkaz siblings in the royal court. Or Andoian's theme simply being associated with the Laterano arc/mini-arc.

I love how they focused on in-game tracks this time. While it still had its share of Operator EPs. they tend to get the spotlight when it comes to people reacting to Arknights music, and the actual in-game bangers get overlooked.
