I'm telling you, this stuff seems to be Meems' wheelhouse - she nails the ambient vocals spot on, and Tefty's music beds are excellent. @@EnochLight yep, I’ve only bought one synth recently that doesn’t have patch storage (Matriarch) and even that gets a sly disapproving look from me sometimes. 🤓

Half the fun is _not_ having patch storage - it stops me always using the same sounds. On my synths that don't have patch storage I rarely re-use sounds and I'd probably just use samples for live performances.

@@ZaffinMusic yep, the MIDI days before digital audio multitrack meant loads of songs that could not be performed or recorded without access to the synths. I rarely use MIDI that way any more but I always print those parts to audio just in case (a lot of my synths are old).

Hi James and thank you! The effects were ValhallaHall verb along with some vocal breath reduction from iZotope RX7. The vocal chain had a couple of compressors chained together on the way into Ableton 👍👍

How are you processing Meems vocals? Are you using the MPC One harmoniser? Love the ambient vibe, have been contemplating getting the BARP 2600, great intro to modular!

Mainly the ValhallaHall verb plus a breath control plugin to reduce those from hitting the reverb so hard. The first track had two Meems on it and that’s what is making the harmonizing sound. Each track she did 2-3 takes and it was usually second take that we kept. Also, the BARP has been great! And yes it’s an excellent intro to modular 👍👍

@@TeftyMeems oh yeahh that Ring mod is another oscillator. Turn all oscillators down and put the pitch on osc 1 and 2 high. Turn up ring mod. You'll hear some Erasure sounds
