It's a decent intro to Ambient Jungle/DnB production, but one thing where I think it would've been nice to go more in depth on in the bassline. I've noticed that a surprising amount of producers who've been trying their hand at the genre recently tend to under-emphasize the bass, which isn't really doing them any favors, 'cause Jungle/DnB is a rave music genre that was heavily intertwined with sound system culture. It was also one of the earlier genres of music to prominently feature heavy amounts of sub-bass, with 808s and weighty sub-basses derived from Dub Reggae & Techno being some of the most prominent elements of Jungle & DnB, even in the more chilled out & atmospheric sub-genres. So producers who miss the memo on that aspect of Jungle/DnB likely aren't going to garner as much interest in their music as they otherwise could.

At this point honestly, it seems more like chillout music than Rave music

@@Mordann_bm while that's definitely true for the more ambient jungle tracks the more reggae inspired ones are going to get more attention from the rave crowd

If anyone here wants to take making jungle/breakcore stuff seriously I recommend getting the blumarten jungle jungle sample pack. You find it anywhere on the internet comes with all the breaks and one shot samples you need to make this stuff, just be warned it’s very old so a lot of the stuff isn’t tuned to C

its not simple cause real jungle producers dont just use other peoples drum patterns we chop them up an make them our own aswell as make our own basslines and melodies. jungle is way more then just copy an pasting

I agree with what you're saying, but like, as far as people who are new to production are concerned, this could be the easier option. Introduce them with click and drag stuff, before they realize that it's holding them back.

Jungle was created by a bunch of guys in the early 90s who were making music using only a sampler, an 8 track mixer, a Commodore Amiga with ProTracker installed, and maybe a synth or two if they had a bit of money. So yeah, minimalism is kinda baked into the DNA of the genre lol. Having said that, saying that Jungle is just breakbeats + atmosphere is definitely underselling it imo. When it comes to the breaks, most Jungle producers will actually chop the breaks up into their individual drum hits and rearrange them into new patterns of varying levels of complexity (I did this using Slicex & the piano roll back when I was still using FL). For more ambient/atmospheric type stuff, producers are a bit more content to just let the breaks be simple & repetitive, but your average Jungle track is gonna have a decent level of variation to the breaks, with stuff like reversing or timestretching drum hits, pitching drum hits up & down (especially on snare rolls), filter sweeps, and especially layering multiple breaks on top of each other. The atmospheric element I think is covered decently in this video, but not every style of Jungle is going for the same type of atmosphere. For example, there's Darkside Jungle, which goes for more of a dark, aggressive and/or eerie vibe, and producers will often achieve that sort of atmosphere less with pads, and more with heavily chopped & distorted breaks, menacing basslines, and a smattering of oneshot samples/FX. And speaking of basslines, bass is probably one of the most important elements of Jungle, and it unfortunately seems to get under-emphasized (or even completely ignored in some cases) by a lot of people who've been getting into the genre lately. Not saying Jungle has to have super heavy bass and have it 100% of the time, but it's a genre of rave music, and it has a lot of its roots in sound system culture. So most longtime Jungle fans are expecting there to be some serious weight on the low end, even for stuff that's on the more chill & atmospheric side of things. If you want to get an idea of what Jungle sounds like produced at a high level, check out artists like Tim Reaper, Dwarde, Nebula, Equinox, Pete Cannon, Sully, Dead Man's Chest, and Phineus II.

No jungle is not as simple as copy an paste it's bot house music an simplicity is definitely not the key to jungle. They used those samplers to chop up breaks basses an melodies an reprogram them to the amen breaks you seen busy use those are someone else's hard work
