Just found you this morning. Excellent stuff. I like that you mention the reverb used in the description. Very transparent.

I love the energy of this and your other video. Reminds me of Stomu Yamashta on some of his modern classical recordings. Here’s hoping you grow the channel, you certainly deserve the exposure. :)

Andrew, thanks so much for the kind words! Your comment has reminded me that I need to make a new video for gongs. Cheers!

Oh man what are you putting in the water ! ?
@ShaneMorrisMusic2 жыл бұрын
Hi Zoe! I'm using a small 8 inch gong and cowbell later. The water alters the pitch the deeper you go. The cowbell that I use is especially resonant which helps with a better tone.

Hi.Thanks for watching. Quite a mix of things. Wind gongs on the right side. Drumset cymbals in the front. Large gong and Chau gong in the back. The left side is an assortment of small Chinese gongs on the top and Thai gongs on the bottom.

Subbed! This sounds so great. Not only are all the sounds cool but I think they are mixed well. Where are the microphones?
@ShaneMorrisMusic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! I use a Zoom H4N that has an onboard stereo pair set of mics. The Zoom is next to the camera to the right. Very basic and easy set up.

@@ShaneMorrisMusic I'm amazed it sounds so clean with such a simple setup! I guess that might be part of why you wore a minimal outfit - less background noise! Keep up the awesome work.

@@esven4419 Thanks! I live in the woods and its very quiet around this cabin with my gongs. That's a big help for recording. It's true certain clothes do make some unnecessary noise, but in this case the temperature in the room was about 95 degrees. So quite necessary for the climate hahah :D

very good! this gong on your left, what material is it made of? aluminum?
@ShaneMorrisMusic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Clécio! The gold thin gongs on my left are wind gongs made of bronze. They are often made of bronze or brass.
