I am a US Navy flight test engineer but I started my career ras the comms person on the P-3B. Listening to this brings back wonderful memories from over 40 years ago. It sounds so realistic. Tuned into the HF frequencies talking with the flight following. Really great job!

Just a random question, but if there was an 'off world' space force operating for real out there, do you think they would communicate ship to ship via radio transmissions? Cause I wonder if that was a thing, would they not be worried earth could pick up the transmissions? But guess they would use some other form of communications, maybe text only I would guess.

@@workingZen Lazer line of sight is very stealthy but harder to use. All military radio traffic is encrypted. So we could detect a signal but couldn't understand it unless we can crack the encryption. Hope that helps.

👍This is outstanding. I won't make up a story on this one, but I just want to say that you have really engineered a great one here. The radio traffic is clear and the background hum is not interfering with listening to the communications. I would LOVE to take a walking tour of the rest of the ship. Is that a planet we're in obit with, or are those TV nav screens via cameras showing us all the overlaid current information? Nice! I love the little touch of the fog coming out of the air vents. November 8th 2255. This war is barely a month old and already the Helgans have carved a huge furrow through the Empire. How they have done it in such a short time is alarming. I'm sat here on the communications deck on the carrier the E.S Orion, an Angel Class carrier. We are patrolling the Wey system, between the Outer Rim and the Forge Worlds. The Helgans have been forcing their way East since the war began and this system, along with several others lay on their path. The McCullen Space Station is about eight systems away, and if the Helgans reach there, the whole Empire is open to them. We cannot afford that for to happen. We are being joined by the 10th and 251st Fleets, others have responded to us, but are tied up either engaging the Helgans directly or escorting troops and supplies to battles. Getting some radio chatter now, sounds like a fighter wing has returned from their patrol. Best get back to work. Emma Turner, communications officer, signing off

I really like the pitch and tone of the engine sound. For the whole experience to be more relaxing and realistic, it would be better if the radio chatter was lower and less intelligible.That would be more representative of being in a nearby crew chair or bunk trying to get some shuteye. But I really like the engine sound and the way it captures the subtile vibrations.

I took a yawn as I leaned forward into my hand. Only the first hour into my shift and already I was missing hypersleep. They always told you before your contract was signed how it was the best rest you could get in an artificial G environment. Course they didn't mentioned the rude awakening and pay docks for staying in the pod past wake up time. Every new hire only had to learn once that they didn't want to have the shift manager come and unlock the pod after it auto-locked on them thinking they could get an extra 5 minutes. Course every spacer worth their salt knew the safe override to have the pod wake you up 10 minutes before the hatch opened, so you could get that sweet sweet morning awake power nap. I was never much one for regular coffee back on earth, so there was no way I was ever drinking that bagged black mush they served with not hot enough water because of the cheap radiators. They had run out of my brand of energy drink, and it was another week's worth of overtime shifts before they get restock. The job wasn't that stressful, but you don't get many luxuries so it's easy to miss the ones you have. You monitor the chatter, confirm incoming scans when you passed a beacon, and occasionally request a re-transmit when the vacuum head on the other in put in a wrong code on accident and had to kick off the redundancy procedure. There goes half your sleep by the way. The smuggler wars had been over so long that most of the vets had frozen over in their graves by now, but as they say nothing is more permanent than a temporary solution. Oh look, a "company mandated" update no one asked for or knew about, that would be another hour of pressing 3 buttons and trying not to nod off. It was gonna be one of those shifts.

LOL) !! Oh, I got just one question : I'm listening to this on headphones and wanted to know if this is not dangerous for my ears if too long ?? I mean, how do I know what volume is needeed, what volume is not too loud ?? Do you have an idea ?? For instance, I love Pink Noise but I'm not sure of effects of White noise and brown noise on my ears (they're quite sensitive)...
