A whole generation grew up with Aang, Sokka, Katara, Zuko, Toph, Suki etc. One of the best animated series of our time. Some might disagree, but this show together with Korra had it all. Teaching, fun, adventure, family, sarcasm, love, meaning of real friendship, compassion, struggle, betrayal, destiny etc. Like many Avatar fans, I'm so grateful and happy that a new animated movie is in the making. Now not as teenagers, but as young adults.

@mmixhll That Korra song near the 4min mark really hits me with that too. "Every dreamer knows that it is entirely possible to be homesick for a place you've never been to, perhaps more homesick than for familiar ground" - Judith Thurman. And there’s a German word that describes this feeling: "fernweh". Literally translated as “farsickness,” the term is closely related with the concept of wanderlust. Just the mere thought of some places can fill us with a sense of "fernweh", even when we’ve never been to them before-or, in the case of fictional places or places that no longer exist, can never reasonably expect to.

@@GrmDark I can feel you but I don't think he is underrated, he is definitely one of the most popular characters of the series. The fact that he is not too much put in the front (although he has incredibly epic glorious moments in the series) is related to his age and wisdom to let the younger generation take the lead. So, this fits the character without letting him in the dark.

@@eireannClover Very true. His whole thing throughout the entire series was to help guide Zuko and the other young people down their paths, and he never took much of an upfront position. I can see that working really well as a water park. Four themed resort hotels: Fire Nation Bungalows, a Villa style in the inner ring of Ba Sing Se, A large tiered building in the Northern water tribe and a tower in the Southern Air Temple. This would also be a good place to put themed restaurants and gift shops for each of the nations. The Southern water tribe would be where most of the water slides would be (penguin sledding). Kyoshi Island would be where the tidal pool is. The Fire Nation would have a beach area and a live theatre for the Ember Island Players. Omashu would house the dry coasters for the Mail system and a dark ride in the cave of two lovers. The Northern water tribe would also have a Kids water course (water bending training) It would be interesting to have a maze/scavenger hunt course below lake Laogai though that may work better as a dark ride too. There'd be a lazy river that runs around the park and serves as a pleasant though slow way to get around the park, but notable it will start in the south and run a circuit past each of the air temples including directly under Western temple and would be the best way to see it. Lastly, I'd put a tower ride in the Norther Air Temple, you take an elevator up then get launched off a platform to 'glide' around the temple as you travel down.

There's two moments that bring me to tears every time I watch this show, and for entirely different reasons. Leaves on the Vine makes me cry like a baby for Iroh's pain. But the scene where Zuko's redemption arc comes full circle and Iroh embraces him so lovingly like this makes me cry in pride and sentimentality over seeing how far he's come. To think that season 3 almost didn't happen...my goodness. What we'd have all missed out on seeing take place. I've never seen a show wrap everything up so beautifully as ATLA did.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" isn't just a show; it's a journey I've embraced repeatedly, discovering new magic in bending and the strength of friendship with every episode. Each rewatch unveils deeper layers in characters, relationships, and the intricate world they inhabit. From Aang's self-discovery to Zuko's redemption, I've laughed, cried, and cheered alongside them. Sokka's wit and Appa reuniting with Aang are pure joys. The show's seamless blend of humor, action, and heartfelt moments is sheer brilliance. It's not just a series; it's woven into my story, reminding me of balance, resilience, and the power of change. This isn't just a three-time watch; it's an adventure I'll gladly revisit.
@jacobwagner8984
@jacobwagner8984 8 ай бұрын
Sokka is the most complex character in the show, i think too many people overlook that to say he's the funny guy. That's just one aspect, he's like 4 characters in one. And the entire plot is driven by him. Aang never learns about the comet, or the eclipse without Sokka. He made the invasion plan. He defended the northern air temple. He saved the village from Jet. He devised the plan to destroy the drill. He gets his butt kicked several times and ALWAYS gets back up to continue his fight. He sacrifices himself to save others multiple times, knowing the dangers he put himself into. Most of all, he isn't emotionally naive like Aang and Katara, and learns humility from a non-bending master. Zuko had the best character arc, but Sokka was the glue from the very beginning to the very end that kept all of it together.

The artwork is actually a beautiful demonstration of the actual scale of the cities in Avatar. Because we follow the main characters on their story and follow them chasing their goal, we get to see the gorgeous world of Avatar in passing but not up close and personal, as they never really stay in one place. It just really opened my eyes to how intricate and busy and alive the different settings must be if you were there in person (and oh boy how I wish I could be there in person). Hey! I'm actually trying to do the same thing right now lol. Anyways, how are you creating the bender character sheets? I'm trying to figure out the best way to do it.
@NamelessWilkins
@NamelessWilkins 3 жыл бұрын
@@liliallen6439 Honestly. There’s no clear or obvious way to do it. I just spent a week studying the world heavily. And then based the character classes on what D&D had. So each bending style is based on a multi class of D&D classes. Such as Fire Benders being heavily based on a fighter/monk class base. While using spell slots of a wizard. Then I reviewed all the spells and chose which ones best seemed to overlap both D&D and Avatar. Such as fireball or fire bolt. Sent a detailed list to my players. Then it got really hard. I explained to them that the listed spells aren’t the only bending they can do. That it’s more of premade bending lists. But their imagination is the limit. If a fire bender wanted to do a heavy outwards wave of fire emitting from themselves I would just look at the scale of the attack and decide what bending (spell) slot level that would constitute. It’s confusing and difficult but I found it makes the most sense.
@NamelessWilkins
@NamelessWilkins 3 жыл бұрын
Spell save DC and spell attack just based around what makes most logical sense for the bender. (I.E. dexterity for Fire benders, Strength for Earth Benders..ETC.)

I’m not going to go into detail about what I went through but i’m surprised i’m still here living to this day. From listing loved ones, experiencing pain and disappointment. Everything has changed from just a short amount of time. I’m glad i listened to this when i did, funny enough. I was having trouble sleeping so i turned this on and my life was a dream the entirety of 2021. So much has changed and i’m at my lowest point in life right now.

Underrated theme: the one that plays when Korra fought(and lost )-: to Unalaq. I felt for her so much in that moment. The music felt/sounded like the hope, then despair, then resignation that she must've been feeling to have "failed". Thank you so much for this. So grateful for the entire Avatar Universe, the lessons it has taught us all, and the way it brings us all together. Peace. Balance. Love. For everyone

Thank you for this lovely creation. There are very few stories that have found their way into the deepest recesses of my heart, and this is one if them. From the character development, philosophy, musical scores that evoke so much emotion and most importantly, the tale. Demonstrably, that life is but multiple failures, and victories while wanting to love and be loved along the way. Beyond endearing. I wish all who read this the best and healthy lives on their personal journeys. - David

I can't say i grew up watching ATLA but I watched it very early on in my life. I was 5 when it came out so I watched it a couple of years later. Maybe around 2012-2013. I honestly can't remember. It was an ethereal experience watching this show for the first time. As the years went and I got older I could appreciated it more and more for what it was and I began to realize how highly praised the show was. I keep saying this but everytime I watch it I still feel remnants of the feelings I got when experiencing the show for the first time. I still to some degree feel like my 10 year olf self as I stare in awe at Azula's and Zuko's final agni kai or when I catch myself smiling at the 0:11 jingle, as the outro rolls. I'm distraught by the fact that there is not much media of this breathtaking show. It has brought so much emotion into my life. I adore every aspect of this show and I wish we had more of it.

I've been listenig to this all this month and i can't seem to spot. Every morning when I start my day i kinda need this start. This feels like the dawn on winter (also it's winter in my country). Like warm of the first light on a frozen morning, full with hope and melancholia of the ended night. Kinda romantic but also sad, the time pasing by just in front of our eyes and us just living in that time. We are not able to change time, we just live on it. And it's feels just like the dawn rising and giving us light. I'm trully waiting for this collab to reach the other 3 nations and bring us a whole experience of feelings through them!
