What you use it for depends on what was in it. Spiral staircase in it to multi level watch tower to see all those beautiful views in your area.

I mean, just use it for it's intended purpose. Stand it up on concrete pylons at a high(ish) point on the land and sandblast it and paint it for corrosion protection. You might even consider cutting into it having the interior inspected for any potential problems or contaminants. That should hold a hell of a lot of water for multiple buildings on the property.

A fire fighting water tank. Pour a concrete slab, get a crane to set it, fill it with water and have a pump and hoses at the ready. You can slowly fill it from the well once the weather gets warmer.

I knew from the start you couldn't get it in the middle of it. You managed to reconfigured it in a way I though you would damage the water tower... I don't know if you are just so good, or just so lucky ! I saw you both talking next to this things and in my mind, I was just watching it and I was scared a strap or a tire blow and this thing roll over on me... Anyway, I'm glad you guys made it ok. If they can get it a bit further in the mountain, gravity could provide good water pressure to their house. I would have just bought a bunch of 1000l tot at 30$ each if it was just for that tough. Anyway, looking forward the future video.

Yup, water tank and a Lightning rod holder. Being all metal, that tank will need a lightning rod and a big concrete slab with a metric ton of rebar in the slab. You may need to add a red FAA beacon on the top? You could add a cable winch elevator to make getting to the top easier?

Long time watcher, first time commentator but, I had to say that this is exponentially the sketchiest thing I have ever seen you do. I have done things like this on a much smaller scale and have been really nervous. This tank moving is about the most ambitious strike with the bare essentials needed to attempt it, including minimal information on the engineering of the tank and all components used, the most unforgiving of terrain and the contingent of disastrous things that could have gone wrong. However, it's obvious that you were successful because of your vital teamwork, resourcefulness, and above all patience. You managed to turn, what I would call 40/60 odds against situation into a 51/49 success. Kudos, and I'm so glad nothing was lost or damaged and no one injured. It was thrilling and nerve wracking to watch, let alone what it was to actually do it. Please let this be the riskiest thing you ever do in terms of real danger and keep on making great videos.

Yes, while impressed by their success the whole thing was far too recklessly accomplished. It succeeded on luck alone. They needed help from someone with better equipment and experience. This sort of luck only lasts so long. Eventually the lucky party tries something where it goes wrong in the worst possible way.

Sweet video to see something we built on your video! We actually built that tank! Doesn't appear to be that old based on how the paint and attachments look. They're initially designed as a pressure vessel for cryogenic liquids, meaning they can hold liquids or gasses, but they are often converted to water towers in the used market. Since they are built as pressure vessels, they always are made with at least two layers of core material- outer core usually of steel/stainless and inner core steel/stainless/super composite material, with an insulating material in between. You dented the outside, but the inside will most likely be just fine. With that said, after building these, we only store them on "C" pedestals at each end. The ends are the strongest supporting sides regardless of which direction it's facing. The neck fill or dispensing ports are not designed to hold weight and be used as a lifting point. I'm surprised you were able to lift it without breaking considering your tank probably weighs around 34-38 thousand pounds. You can also see the original supports have been welded off, which sucks because we design them to be absolutely dead centered on a perfect grade. It will NOT be easy to weld something back and align the tank up as straight as it was originally. I got so much anxiety watching you stand next to it without it being really secured. Those straps do nothing. We use those large C pedestals along with chains due to previous near miss instances.

Not only could you use it to store precious water needed for your family but you could then add antennas to the top for your various needs. Put your Starlink on the top. I spent 30 years in seattle, i was one of the few certified by boeing for fire suppression and water instal, i would hook pipes and build a solar box with a high pressure pump from under tank. i would pipe and install 3 p.i.v. valves post indicator valves, they are what you can hook a fire hose to, i would put 1 in back of house and 1 on each side in front, these are like hydrants, you have a valve box and they are below freezing and you use a valve wrench to open them, doing this will give you high pressure 3 inch firehose ability all around your house and shop, all ideas are good, but this protects you and family.

If the water isn't intended for consumption isn't there a way (Plumbing anti-freeze perhaps or baffles, a pump to keep the water circulating, or ... ?) to prevent freezing or damage from freezing?

Probably not good for potable (drinking water) but for watering a garden and fire fighting, assuming it holds water. I would agree with others, a watch tower on top.

I’m wondering is you have cell tower locations around you. You must. If not though, I’ve heard the revenue off of a tower location-leasing to multiple providers-is pretty lucrative. It requires access 24/7 and electricity. If a tower was installed-maybe they would pay to run power to your property?

@@MrPaulviles We live fairly close to Ambition Strikes and our local fire department relies on tanks like this to get water (we are very rural). We keep a couple of tanks full year-round by insulating around the valves and paining them a dark color. It may be a bit cooler by Ambition strikes, but our record low was 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

@@AmbitionStrikes Sounds fun but a terrible idea. You need to protect the buildings from fire. Building a child's fort and a zip-line would be cool, but there are endless ways of doing the fun stuff without wasting a major component of a wildfire protection system for the buildings and the people in them.

@@Chris-lp3dmI’m completely in agreement Chris. I think keeping the vessel functioning as water storage for fire protection is paramount. But the exterior could support an awesome spiral staircase with little landings for different views and perhaps a platform on top that creates a special space like the restaurant in the Space Needle. It’s an opportunity to showcase Riley and Courtney’s genius and skills.

*Fire Protection* . It's a water tank, yes? You live in a place surrounded by forest. Currently you have nothing protecting you but luck and the weather. Do what mountaintop astronomy observatories do. Put a sprinkler system in. Plumb it to this large water tank and its own dedicated pump. Add this tank to your existing home water system such that your well water over flows from this tank into your current storage.

Set the conical bottom plus legs in concrete. pipe out the bottom set up for hooking to a fire pump. Add guy wires and stairs around it, or ladder. build a small fire lookout/fort on top. Fill with rainwater from roof. Place above house for view or if want more water faster below something with a large roof, Or build a rain catch/little storage shed above it. Or just hide it up in the woods so there's gravity feed to the house.
