The fact FDNY has a bus dedicated to respiratory treatment is weird yet amazing at the same time

They probably got it after 9/11 because they realized how much smoke and dust can get created if a building collapsed

The bus is mainly for mass casualty scenarios and they have three of them. I’ve seen them before, but not responding

A very common mis-conception. They're legal. It was only a standard to not have blue forward-facing lights but that were put a stop to in 2006.

What does the FDNY use that bus for??

It's a Mobile Respiratory Treatment Unit (MRTU). It's used to treat a large number of patients for respiratory problems. New York has so many large buildings that are filled with people, one fire and lots of smoke can cause a lot of breathing problems:)

Yeah that's right - I woke up one day and thought I'd go to NJ. At first I thought of North Hudson but then decided to do Teaneck as I wanted to get Teaneck Vol. Ambulance Corps - much to my disappointment I didn't so decided to go back to NY to buff two fires.
