You inadvertently invented "skip hombing" when you "dropped your 'torpedo'" . Your torpedo plane was a Dauntless SBD, as you said: Scout Bomber, Dive. What a knucklehead. Good episode though.

I think it woud’ve been better if you guys used TBD and SBD together, since it’s the TBDs that spotted the carriers first and all the ani air defence armaments were focused on them, hence the SBDs were able to dive bomb and pull out safely… Rest in peace to the brave TBD pilots

F4U's are a bit overrated and a dangerous aircraft because of the long and large nose and when trying to land on a carrier, the pilot cant see the deck and either over shoot and crash on the front of the carrier and get crushed by the carrier or hit the stern of the carrier, the F4F's are underrated and probably overlooked and dominated the Pacific in 1942 and 1943
