I've seen plenty of videos comparing the 200ge with the pentium g4560, and g5400 with a real gpu. The most common pairings I see at 1060 6bgs or going all out with a 1080ti. Both of which might be too much gpu than the cpu ever needs. Well the 1060 6gb might be the absolute max I would go, unless I'm really expecting to replace the 200ge with at least a ryzen 5 2xxx later on.
@pauls45226 жыл бұрын
@Jonathan Soko nah, I think the 1050ti would be a better balance.

Yes and no. I know during my childhood, my dad built me the cheapest pc he could put together because he had to build a pc for both myself and my sister. He ended up spending 100$ for cpu,mobo, psu, case, and 256mb ddr 333 ram altogether. I had to fend for myself for everything else. I already had a 80gb hdd from my pc prior to that, and had to buy an extra 512mb of ram to make the pc even usable for the time. For the gpu I ended up buying a radeon 9550, which was a pretty good lower-mid range gpu for the time for about 130$. I sure as hell would not have spent on a 100$ on a gpu back then, and I most certainly would not spend only 100$ on a gpu today. There is always the used route for something even better, however a lot of people would not even trust buying something used. Many wouldn't want to risk buying a bad part, or do not want to factor in what other steps they would need to take when purchasing an older card. Such as if they would need to purchase a beefier psu to power the card, etc. For example both a Radeon 7970 or a gtx 680 are still quite competent cards to the level of a gtx 1050ti, but yield much higher tdps, requiring a nice psu of 600w or better with decent power efficiency. Not only that these cards are to the age where problems can occur from aging components.

Agreed with the ram situation regarding the athlon 200ge. It's an argument I have left on other 200ge videos, that I feel ram needs to drop at least another 15$ usd. just recently the lowest DDR4 prices I have seen has dropped to 61$ usd, however these are for a single 8gb stick, which will hurt performance-wise because you will not be using dual channel mode. 2x4gb kits are around 65$ usd not. If prices were to drop to around 48$usd, or maybe 50$usd then it would be a much more viable option than it is now. My ideal planned build for the 200ge is a birthday pc for my mother. For what she does she can still get by with only 4gb of ram. Yes I know, even for casual use 8gb is becoming the new norm, but really my mothers ancient athlon II x3 450 3.2ghz with 4gb ddr2 1066mhz, still gets by just fine with only 4gb of ram. The main reason why she wants something new is just because her aging am2+ motherboard is beginning to give her blue screens, even after I reformatted the pc, checked her paste, adding extra cooling (which helped blue screens happen less often), but its about time for her to get something better. Normally I would buy her a new board, but she is using an AM3 cpu, on an AM2+ board. So if i were to buy her a new board I'd likely have to buy her DDR3 ram, because AM2+ boards are becoming expensive due to their high compatibility across so many cpu generations (AM2,AM2+,AM3). Because I do not have to buy her a pc case, peripherals, nor even operating system and because I only need 4gb of ram I can get by building her a new 200GE system for only 150$ USD.

make sure the mainboard you're getting is flashed with the latest firmware to support this chip, as it is brand new. also, are you planning on upgrading to a bigger AM4 chip. if so, i wouldn't skimp on ram too much, big ryzen loves some good memory and it pays off to spend a couple of tenners more on the ram, especially since they cap out at 4.2 ghz clock speed, ram can allow for levels of scaling you otherwise can't obtain on ryzen. or you could take the gamble for ddr4 to ever become cheap and get another kit later (i wouldn't reallly) if you're planning on staying with this cpu, disregard everything except the fist line

Back then I just about to buy a cheap laptop with UHD 610 graphics, then I found about 2200G. Massive difference in performance.

To be honest i do think that i will be using this Apu for some family members of mine since they do need a pc but do want one. This may be part of a low or extreme power build that i might do for them. And plan to make it mini atx build too.
@monocha44676 жыл бұрын
you must enable the igpu to use 2 gb ram from the bios because the default is 1 gb and you limit the performance sorry if you did it :) nice video

It's interesting watching this 3 years later and hear him going on and on about ddr4 prices. It's DIRT CHEAP now. Would like to see a 2022 revisit

Pretty impressive for the price but a 2200G still seems like the best budget option for a new budget PC build. The APU is double the price but wouldn't be much more expensive when taking the full build's price into consideration. You could build a $350 (USD) with the 200GE or spend 15% more and get much better performance for a $400 build (2200G); 4 real CPU cores, more GPU power, overclocking, better RAM speed support and much higher performance.

MunkeyChips This is more likely for schools or offices where and it is perfect for general web browsing, word, excel etc.

Dávid Végső Yeah, the CPU seems like it was made for the office PC market. AMD can sell boat-loads of these to Dell, HP, etc, for cheap.

Terraria Heaven The 2200G _can_ play many AAA at 720p/60fps on low. That's why I think it's a better deal. What in the world are talking about Pentiums and Celerons for?

Thanks for the video. What do you think i should do? Should i upgrade my am3 motherboard with a phenom ii x6 or x4, upgrade the 1333mhz ddr3 ram from 4 to 8, and replace my gt 430 to a gtx 750ti or should i go with this new cpu, 8ram, new motherboard ?

Just made a system pairing it with a 1050ti and 16 gigs of now finally actually cheap ram, it's a really nice entry level setup. Now 570s are dirt cheap that would be a good option too. The upcoming 1650 might be the perfect fit though, perhaps I'll build another system.

How's the video playback. It handles 4k 30 fps playback, or VP9, h265? That is one of the reasons I would like this CPU.

You failed to mention what you set the Dedicated Graphics to!? I’ve not seen any review yet to adjust this if it can be adjusted? But that said wasn’t mentioned.

The dedicated graphics was on the 200GE?

Budget-Builds Official what amount? 256mb? 2gb? Can this section be adjusted like the 2200g and 2400g?
@JezyYT6 жыл бұрын
Budget-Builds Official you know im a fan! Im not trying to be a dick! Just no one so far has covered this. Ive noticed doing builds with the 2200g seem to get better performance setting the iGPU to use 1gb of memory

Is the ram single channel? Planning to buy this in an ultra budget build and I am curious about the performance in single channel 4gb ram.

Good video. I bought R7 1700 for 200$ and 1 stick of 8 GB of ram, yes, 1 stick, lol. I will add 3 more to 32 GB later when ram goes down.

Is it possible to change the amd athlon 220ge with ryzen 5 5600x? And what will the performance be better if the motherboard will not be changed?
@BudgetBuildsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
I mean if your motherboard supports that CPU it should work, the uplift to CPU side performance would be immense.
@ProtonD12006 жыл бұрын
You're not talking about DVI on the motherboard, Did you not detect any problems with the DVI port. Why is this DVI port turned off on this Chip. ?? I have now spent 350 $ because I thought there was something wrong with my CPU and/or my motherboard so I bought a CPU and a motherboard more but with the same result.
