Benchmarks using non finalized drivers that aren't actually indicative of real world performance and this man is simping for NVIDIA lol. I don't care how good the 40 series cards are if I'm expected to pay an unjustifiable premium for it. RT is just a performance tank that's 3-5 years from actually being mainstream. If money is of no concern, then why talk about literally any other GPU than the 4090 until a faster card is released? Chasing frames also means tuning and making the most out of what you're able to afford. And also, if the frames you're chasing don't include RT then that could affect purchase decisions along with the other endless amounts of reasons. Of course the list of reasons vary greatly depending on your use case or bias.

The thing with those benchmark scores is that they don't directly corelate to fps which is the thing that matters the most. We've already seen in the past cards do really bad in benchmarks but excelling when it comes to gaming performance due to optimization and architecture. I hope that the new AMD gpus turn out to be competitive since it's most likely going to make Nvidia cards drop in price. It's good for both AMD and Nvidia fanboys.

It might be right price in the US, here in EU prices are much higher, the 4080 is much more closer to the 7900xtx here, the 4090 is gone in most of stores anyway, so people are waiting for more stock, even though the price here is around 2,5-3K€. @@Wobbothe3rd not disappointed at all as i paid 1050usd for a gpu that ties or wins against the 4090 in about 4 or 5 fps titles that i play. yes not quite as efficient and i tend to undervolt/underclock unless i really want the frames but to say they are a disappointment is disappointing. ive had no major crashes or errors which highly surprised me honestly. dont buy a reference but just about any aib non ref is a great buy in my opinion compared to a card that costs another 700 dollars or more

they rushed a slim form factor, it seems the clocks and TDP were very limiting. Asus Tuf XTX has been reported doing 3300mhz with 25% performance increase over reference just by undervolting. When mods come out this card might be the steal of the decade. It already is the best overclocker we've ever seen if you consider reference model (base)

@@kevinerbs2778 they're actually very good cards if we can mod them with power mod. The Asus variant coming out does out of the box 3100mhz on core, that's insane increase from the reference xtx. They actually can go even further, someone on techpowerup did a review, with nothing but an undervolted using the asus version got 28% OC, 3300mhz. If we get power mod, even the reference will be insane actually, no joke. Power and temp is the issue with the reference. it's severely chocked, and Id imagine drivers to come along.

The RTX 4080 has wins as well and does exponentially better in ray tracing, but the 7900 XTX is no where near a bad product. It’s intriguing and on average a little better in gaming (then the 4080) when ray tracing is not in the equation.

If you look at Paul's hardware hes the only one who's xtx card runs 3.2ghz and the xt 2.9. For what ever reason hes the only one and everyone else is doing no more than 2.7 across the board. I think the board partner reviews should clear it up

the 7900xtx outperforms in 2 games, and that's due to console optimization games loving AMD since they do perform better in COD. And well the 4090 does get bottlenecked in 1440p so it's not being fully utilized. But the averages seem to be it ​matches or is slightly better than the 4080, while in some situations, It's under the 4080 in 4k. However, the 4080 is better than everything else. Lower power consumption, better raytracing performance, better 3D rendering, and productivity performance, better build, and better drivers. So if you want to spend $1k just to play warzone instead of getting a 6950xt, guess get the xtx

@@DANTE-du6fb thats what i did months ago, i ONLY played rebirth island for the last 2 years, no other modes, no other games, ONLY rebirth, and the stutter problem was only on my most hated map caldera, so i got me a rx6900 and im happier than ever with my 200fps+ in 1440p. thats always the biggest problem, instead of arguing which card is better, just look at the benchmarks, and get the card which favors YOUR game the most. IF you ONLY play mw2, get a 7900xtx, if you play other games with RT, get a 4080/4090, simple as that

For the price its good. If it sales for MSRP. Also AMD 7900xtx beats 4080 in rasterization. BUt yes RT is AMD achilles heels. But even in RT AMD beats 3090ti. So its actually better than 3090ti overall. I would say thats a pretty good jump from 6900xt which was only able to match rtx 3070 in raytracing while competing 3090. So technically AMD has done a good job. However, AMD might need to undercut prices a lot more to be competitive. If they do so, they also have resizable. Bam! there will be no point buying anything below 4080 in nvidia. Even 4080 might feel like a luxury than an option due to its price.

It's best to compare cards that are at similar price ranges. AMD is behind technologically but they've always been competing in value. They've gone quite far since the Polaris. At that time, the best we could get was Rx 480 from AMD. No raytracing either. It's really a matter of 4080 vs the 7900 XTX. In that regard, the 7900 XTX is a good value of $999 vs $1199. The 7900 XT is an even better value IMO due to the closeness in some benchmarks. Looking back, These cards are at least better in value than the 2080 Ti at launch. Performance improvements is still... chugging along. I'm glad they're available at least. The second mining boom was a total nightmare.

there is a very very very tiny chance im wrong. but its looking very much like AMD just renamed the 7800xt to a 7900XT to masively inflate the price of it. like I honestly lost interest when I saw their second best gpu went from 650 euros to 900. and AMDS msrp is always off by about 200-600 euros in reality so worst case the 7900xt could cost noticably more than a 4080. Sadly no (I was super hyped on RNDA 3), 3D Vcache and 3 GHz + clocks wasn't gonna save these cards. Unless their 96 compute units has fairy dust sprinkled on it that it has WAY more performance per CU / SM vs AD102 at 122SM 4090 (and a 4090 can get close to 3GHz too so most of the clock advantage isn't there), maybe it can prove all the naysayers wrong, but this is a moonshot architecture just like Bulldozer architecture on their CPUs where a lot of things can go wrong because they changed too many things at a time. And it baffles me why AMD didn't shoot for around 160SM for Navi 31 (cause AMD needs to have slightly more CU than NVIDIA has SMs to reach raster performance parity like in RDNA 2) and make it a humongous die (around 800+ mm^2 for combined size) when they can still make it cheaper vs Lovelace on bleeding edge 4nm. So it FEELS like to me that Navi 31 should be named Navi 32 instead and maxed out on 7800XT at 700$ max instead. This is more baffling when AMD used chiplets to gain a core count advantage vs coffee lake, comet lake, rocket lake to offset whatever advantage Intel has over them (in short they used chiplets in a position of strength on zen 2, zen 3 but now it looks like it's the complete opposite vs Lovelace and it shows in their pricing too). Leaks last year on RDNA 3 are crazy where you hear at least (on the more "reasonable" leakers) 2X raster performance not RT, and ever since the NVIDIA hack, the (more "reasonable" leakers) are steadily walking back on those crazy claims and they are speaking in tones to temper down the hype on RNDA 3 consistently. So disappointing, RDNA 2 keynote AMD did was the best keynote I have ever seen from any company in the silicon space, I guess I might not see an awesome keynote for a long time from Radeon again.

But i understand the limitations of my suggested approach, but throwing more CUs at the problem can also solve the raytracing gap as RT scales well with more CUs / SMs So if they make the GCD around 400~500mm^2 and then add some a lower level Infinity Cache at the expense of some CUs on the GCD to solve some latency issues when increasing the GCD size that big and then be fine with lower clocks, they might beat AD102 (4090, 4090 TI) on both raytracing and raster at 4K or higher resolutions. But this is probably a moonshoot approach to chiplets ironically enough, so the more reasonable approach to this is just not compete at the super high end and just price it at 800$ and that would be a fine launch from AMD. It's a shame that they burned a lot of trust here by overpromising and under delivering again just like in the Old Days.

I want to say thats also because the AMD reddit removes nothing but Nvidia's reddit page is notorious for deleting TONS and I mean TONS of issues reported. AMD's issues are long gone and their drivers have no more or less issues than Nvidia cards. I have an AMD card myself, the 6700xt and I will make the testimony.. I have had 1 driver issue so far that was minor (screen went black for a split second when switching windows stretched across displays) due to my multimonitor setup that an AMD user helped me fix in less than 2 minutes, .. my old 2060 however? Driver issue after driver issue i couldn't find fixes to other than "yea just revert to a 2 year old driver." Not to down the 2060 too hard, was a great card for me, but my driver issue experience personally leans way more towards AMD being stable-er-ish as it has been the smoothest sailing I've had in years in terms of drivers. Yes, Nvidia is still better for productivity workloads/RT gaming.. though if you want RT gaming Nvidias low end (2060/3060/3060ti) are NOT worth it for RT. But a 6700xt having comparable or better performance to both the 3060ti/3070 nowadays for $100-$200 less is a no-brainer.

I was a 7 year team Green player (1050ti, 970, and a 2060) Nvidia fanboys and AMD fanboys are both annoying since they are too biased to actually trust. These issues and stutters just don't exist anymore. Most of the issues mentioned are from the ATI days and the other driver issues mentioned were release issues with the 5000 series which have all been fixed from my knowledge and friends who use 5000/6000 series cards. The 3000 series had massive driver issues on release as well. I had these same worries about stability and drivers but like I said I have had entirely smooth sailing with the 6700xt. I play every game at 1440p+Ultra quality and maintain 60fps+ and often 100fps+ without any stutter issues. I can only speak for myself and my friends. My 5600x+6700xt system does slightly better than my best friends 3700x+3070 system (we have the same 32Gb of ram, same SSD storage and so on) and as I said my card was.. $180 cheaper than his

frankly, i`d be happy to see both nvidia and amd go bust at this point.. both greedy a/f on pricing. I think it`s easy for content producers like frame chasers and others to forget that some of us bought what you describe as `dog shit` and have a great time playing games at max details, even if ray tracing performance isnt great.. i was an nvidia only guy until the vega cards came out, and the reason for the swap to amd was prices.. my vega 56 was quickly modded to run faster than stock vega 64 and the gaming i did on that card was superb and almost entirely at 4k max details. I can take it or leave it with rtx, i`m quite happy gaming with it off.. it was never a necessity or really a groundbreaking effect anyways. but yeah, my current 6700xt o/c plays great at 4k max / near max, rtx low - medium.. i really dont see the point upgrading and wont for another few years. The 7950x is within 3-5% of the 13900k in single thread and about 1-2% in multithreaded applications, a lot closer than most people think. There is virtually no difference in performance between 7950x and 13900k.

Push a 13900K to 6800 MHz M-Die or 7600+ MHz A-Die with properly tuned timings tho and it‘ll have a significant difference in minimums/lows. More cores just cannot make up for lower latency. The 7950X isn‘t remotely close to the 47ns you can reach on D5 with Intel or 43ns you can get with D4. The 7800X3D is gonna make up for that in many games, but there‘s still gonna be games in which it doesn‘t work. A properly tuned 12900K/13700K/13900K works well for absolutely everything and that‘s exactly what the issue is with the 7900 XTX as well. MCM doesn‘t work for gaming unless you optimize games/engines for it specifically and even then it can have issues and you‘re gonna have a few games in which it doesn‘t work. I am not at all interested in that. Hardware just needs to work with everything and it needs to do that at launch and not after 2 years of updates when the next generation is already coming out.

Did you even watch all the reviews & real-world performance benchmarks in real games? The 7900 XTX beats the 3080 in the majority of raster-based games. It's junk for RT but that was expected. @@MaDDeX93 yeah. The biggest problem is that there is zero competition from amd. Their biggest selling point is price to performance, well that only works for fanboys and budget conscious types. AMD really need to lower the number designations on their cards. 7900xt/xtx is a bit deceiving as it suggests it competes with 4090.

Out of fear for these ' price increases ' and 'low 7900xtx stock' I pulled the trigger on a 6950xt new for £750. It's for 1440p high refresh gaming. I also have extended return through Amazon until 31st of January.

did the same but £650 for 6900xt. You will be happy. Use MorePowerTools to increase power limits and tune it.

@@jstarproductions7335 Mine is 91% ASIC but as its not on water i have turned my voltage down a touch to 1.138 just to keep the fans sane. Mine is not an XTXH tho. Once on water i will play with higher voltages. Make sure to test for results so you dont loose performance or get stutter. Test enabled fast timings in MPT if they are not and find the sweet spot for memory before performance drops with EEC errors if you have not already. You should get fast2 available too i think.

bro the 7900 xtx gets 34-35k gpu score timespy with minimal oc and uv. i can speak for tuf oc with hynix vram and sapphire nitro+ with hynix vram. i got the tuf oc myself but holyshit there has been many shitty drivers. only 4 drivers out of 17 drivers has been good to this day :D thats with the beta drivers calculated with.

Why are you basing things on one single synthetic benchmark? You should do average of real world applications. I’m not an amd fanboy btw. Let’s keep it real world and objective. I know amd fails hard on what they promise every launch but it still doesn’t mean you should be basing things on one single synthetic benchmark.

Aaaaaaand this guys credibility is now gone 😂. The 7900 XTX is beating the 4080 in multiple titles while 20% less expensive. That is an insane difference in rasterization performance per cost. Ray Tracing? Meh, not really a huge deal for multiple titles but Nvidia is king there. RT doesn’t do anything for me in FPS, CRPG’s, or RTS titles anyways 🤷‍♂️

So u gonna play 4k ultra settings but turn ray tracing off ? Even in non competitive games ? Doesn't that sound abit wack.... And also DLSS 3 is still better than FSR, along with encoding if required. Only thing you may get is rasterization being few percents better than the 4080 and still in some games the 4080 will perform better in rasterization. AMD did indeed fail this and it's a shame cause Nvidia now can be greedy as they like.

@@ali09gaming58 What I find wack is turning on RT and losing half your frames. Sure, it can be more cinematic, but after a couple of hours of gaming, the effect of RT starts to wear away and you don't really care about it all that much. FSR just like DLSS will continue to be updated over time so who cares? You know it'll get better. One thing you can't say you know will get better is the rasturization of a launched card. What you get is what you get. The 7900xtx does that better than the 4080 and costs 20% less money to do it. I won't do mental gymnastics on speculating how that's beneficial for Nvidia.....

@@Jabsy101 ok so first i am not a fanboy of nvidia or AMD, i was hoping for AMD to beat nvidia, so they lower their stupid prices, but AMD did a really bad job ! the prices are not what you gonna get, goodluck finding msrp 1000 buck card, your most likely gonna get like 1200, 1300 to 1500 or more cards instead from AIB models and msrp in Europe is gonna be higher than 1000 buck. The AMD rx 7900 xtx does not beat rtx 4080 in ALL games in terms of rasterization, in some rtx 4080 beats it, and if rx 7900 xtx does beat it its only by a few percentiles, that being said rtx 4080 overclocked can get you there anyways. The DLSS, raytrace, streaming drivers, 3d work and even mining.. the nvidia beats AMD hands down and if FSR will get updates, so will DLSS, they not gonna just stop updating are they ?... if you get used to raytracing, its like saying you getting used to 1440p so whats the point of 4k gaming ? ,, now imagine with a right mind, you buy a 4k monitor, 4k pc setup and a 4k GPU you play gaming at ultra settings, 4k, but you just cant have ray tracing ?? you cant utilise DLSS or other supersampling drivers cause you only have FSR which is not as good, that to me sucks, i rather opt for a GPU that does everything better, that being said 1200 dollars and even 1000 dollars for 4080 and rx 7900xtx is a rip off and if your gonna go down that road and most likely you wont even get them at msrp anyways, so why not just go for the cheapest 4090, to me that makes the most sense in this stupid highly priced generation.

You can't always just shrink the node. AMD is always first to adopt. It worked great at 40nm and shit the bed at 35nm.
