Funnily enough I got a rx 6900xt strix liquid cooled new for around the same price as you got yours used for back in February. Runs cool, quite and is still a beast.

i'm a bit similar boat but whit a rx 6700xt and a i5 12600k going for the top whitout massive cpu you end up whit disminushed return and new card still are expensive i guess pass a bit of time holding and consider both a cpu and gpu uplift so far holding my 75 fps in 1440p well to my need

I was originally going after a 6800 because of the performance per watt it achieves, but I ended up winning an auction for a Liquid Devil 6800 XT for $416 ($459 after tax/shipping). I have the card undervolted, and it actually draws less power on average than my prior water cooled 5700 XT @ 2200MHz. I think I still would've been plenty happy with the 6800's performance, but considering I managed to score a 6800 XT for the price of an air cooled 6800, I am not complaining.

I'll be honest. the naming scheme at AMD is kind of confusing for their graphics cards and, to a lesser extent, the processors. especially with the differential in numbers. I would say AMD and Intel are the worst at this. The graphics card is clearly good, but how would I know when the generation of graphics card is known by the same number as the previous generation, like Xbox One and Xbox Series One, like, what the hell? and that is just one example of a comparison in which people are unsure whether to purchase it or a PlayStation 5 with its self-explanatory naming scheme. The best example I almost replaced my GTX 1060 for a GTX 1650, assuming that it was a better upgrade when it wasn't. The reason why the Ryzen Series and PS5 sold very well, and this is my opinion, is because of the naming scheme. It's not perfect, but it is more simplified compared to the graphics card from AMD. A person such as yourself knows what to get because you do this for a living or are passionate about such things. as the majority of people neither have the time nor care for this. let alone understand, judging by the sale of the RTX 4080.

Love your content man, I've used all your undervolting videos in the past. I'm looking into a getting a RX6800 for around £400 and running it in 1440p ultrawide, Or would you recommend holding off til next year for AMD/Nvidia midrange offerings?

Almost got a 6800 for $400 in my country Too bad the seller decides to not sell his gpu I've settled with 6700XT now got it for $330 lastmonth and ace in 1080p144

The 6800 is a great card, I've had one for about the last year in my main rig, I did get a great deal for a asrock 6900xt OC edition though so I'm gonna part ways with it. It served me well though.

Well made video! I bought a used 6800 for $445 about 1 month ago and not sure if it was a good deal but seeing those numbers, I definitely not regretting it.

@@F7GOS Indeed! I was initially going for 3070 for around the same exact cost I paid for 6800 so for me, I'm thankful I went for the 6800 and not 3070.

Yeah I have a launch 3070 here still and it's really been relegated to a CAD machine rather than actually used as a gaming card. Too many times you end up bumping up against that 8GB buffer...

@@amroyasir8390 I bought a new XFX RX 6800XT Swift 319 for $523.28. It just shipped while I was negotiating for a deal on a refurbished 6900. I don't know whether to return the 6800 and go for a used 6900 but the thing is why was the 6900 returned ? and thats what makes me want to stick to the 6800 but if I can get some sort of guarantee on the 6900 at a good price then why not ?

I end up buying 6700XT from AMD shop around 520€ in february 2022. But I did get around 400€ from my Vega 64 (bought it 2019 June under 400€ and I get more money from it when I sold it) so it was not a bad deal. Most expensive GPU I have ever bought but still one of the cheapest ever considering what I get from my old one. Prices are gone mad really. Waiting to see when we get again "normal priced 250-400€" GPU's for high end.

Well with the amount of rtx 30 series cards out there if nvidia can't shift them before they want to release the 4070 and 4060 stuff like the 3070 could well end up being the sub 300 option

I found that the 6800 XT was the sweet spot when it came to price/performance but the 6900 XT was a typical bad value halo card.

So I guess the real question now with the whole stack from 6800 - 6900xt coming within a 200 quid range of each other is would you pay the difference now for that bump in performance?

right now on the used market where i live, theres a 6900xt cheaper than any 6800xt i could find. i'm about to buy it.

The lowly 6800 does not get much love. My theory is that it is missing the 'XT' moniker of it's halo counterpart. Too bad because it handily beats the RTX 3070, and trades blows with the RTX 3080 in rasterization titles. It also runs much quieter than it's 'RTX' counterpart.
