If you have a rtx 3050 or at maximum a rx 6600 or a rtx 3060 and you play mostly AAA games you can keep your ryzen 5 2600 a little more especially if you overclock it a little ( mine is a 4.00 ghz at 1.3vcore), but if you play mostly competitive games on high refresh monitor or have a more powerfull card of a rtx 3060 the upgrade to a ryzen 5 5600x its very recommended

What I learned from this video is the R5 5600 will NOT be a major upgrade from my 2600. I can save the ~ $280 for a new MB & CPU (5600) and just upgrade my RX 580. A new PCIe 4.0 gpu will work fine in my PCIe 3.0 MB.

Thats the wrong takeaway here - the GPU this dude is using is a super low end-card RTX 3050. My wife and I both have an RTX 3070, shes got the 2600x and gets about 125FPS in MW2 (Warzone), I get about 150fps with a R9 3900x - I used to use a 5600X and got about the same frames per second but I went to the 12 core for video editing purposes. So that means you can just throw away the data from this video as hes very limited by his video card. He gets about 90 FPS in warzone which means hes leaving 35FPS on the table. The 2600X Is still a very capable CPU but you will get an insane bump in performance from the 5600x - I took a bit of a hit in a lot of games moving back to the 3900x but thats a worth while trade-off to me.

In games with simple graphics like Valorant (13:14) where the limiting factor is the CPU itself instead of GPU, the difference is huge. In games such BF 2042 (10:39) the R5 2600 makes less use of GPU. I Wonder why.

​@@WillVRam He said CPU limited, but he didn't mean an actual limit set by the developers. I'd rather call it more CPU intensive. Basically the game's developers made the game more dependent on threading. Nowadays more often games are bound to GPU when they're using more graphical settings for the game but there are games on esports level that they made use the CPU which involves more logic thinking than delivering eye candy (pretty and high resolution textures etc.) For instance, World of Warcraft is extremely logic derived, so it runs more on CPU than GPU, you can also tell this perfectly by the textures they use and how often they repeat those same said textures, same counts for Rainbow Six Siege. But let's say we're looking into more GPU intensive games like for instance VR games (for example Half Life Alyx) then it's focused on making things look good, while also providing decent frames for the headset. Basically when you say CPU intensive or GPU intensive you're saying, more reliant on graphics or more on mathmatics.

Those tests are mostly capped by a GPU. It's load is around 90-95%. So it's not really a CPU vs CPU test. Especially in FH5 and CP77.

You're gpu bottlenecked in a few games with the 3050 (likr spiderman and god of war), you should use 720p in those cases to properly test the cpus

In Cyberpunk too I think but I prefer these test to stay like this cause normal people can actually easly see what will happen if they pair their weak GPU with much much stronger but cheap CPU - exactly nothing - in quite a few games. So they should NOT do that!

nobody plays at 720p so its not relevant. Benchmarking the cpu actual performance is useless to most people. Instead this show people if its worth getting a cheaper cpu if they are planning to make a build with 3050 or if its worth switching to a better cpu if they own a 3050.

Why put the games in higher graphics making use of 95%+ of GPU? On these games like Forza and God of War, the FPS is almost the same between 2600 and 5600 because the limiting factor was the GPU

it's probably using a replay tool of sorts that still has to render everything in the game as a 3D enviroment and not a flat 2D video that was recorded

For these CPUs the stock cooler is often good enough, I would counsil buying the cpu and all test it and see if the temperature is ok, if it is just leave how it is, if not buy an aio

​@@zappalavigna i bought latest 5700x and try to use it with deepcool gammax 400 4 copper heatpipes...temperatures war near of 60-70 degrees (on the desktop, without any program is working). So I returned 2600 back in my PC, max temperature in 100% is 60-65 degrees. Strange things why 5700x so hot without any action in BIOS

solely due to cpu. GPU is mostly irrelevant for valorant since its a cpu heavy game. You could switch your gpu from 2060 super to a gtx 1060 and still get similar fps but you will triple your fps by changing your cpu to 5600.

Can someone please explain why this is happening ? If the test bench is the same and r2600 is not maxed out why would a newer CPU perform better if 2600 is not maxed out. 50% usage for 2600 and 30% for 5600. It's clear why this is the case, but if there is more room for 2600 (usage), why would 5600 perform better ? Shouldn't be 30% for 5600 and 85% for 2600 with the same performance ?

Each generation of chips has a high IPS Instructions Per Second. So every cycle the cpu can send more back and forth with every clock speed.. Frequency is a big piece of the puzzle but there are other improvements as we move along to simplify things.

в ААА помойках типа GOW вполне раскрывает. В том же PUBG или RUST, 2600 - это блевотина бомжа. Сижу сейчас с точно таким же сэтапом на 2600, и low 1% 20фпс, рваный фреймтайм, ипутлаг присутствует.

Я поясню тогда - у меня в компе стоит rx 3060ti, 16 GB Corsair 3000 Мгц, SSD WD BLUE 500 GB, KCAS Plus Gold 750W и сраный Ryzen 5 2600, воткнутый в Gigabyte B450 Aourus Elite. Я не могу по-человечески поиграть в PUBG, картинка рвется настолько, что мои глаза вытекают, процессор разогнанный до 3.95 ГЦ, но это ничего абсолютно не меняет, микрофризы, догрузки, вертикальная синхронизация даже не спасает, либо дает бешенный Input lag. И все это из-за этого райзена. Я сначала тоже думал что дело не в нем, но когда поменял в компе уже все что можно было поменять - как выяснилось проблема в нем. Поэтому свап ссаного 2600 на уже не такой ссаный 5600 изменит ситуацию в лучшую сторону

Вот как раз для игр с 2600 уже давно пора бежать, хотя бы на 3600. Сам спрыгнул с 2600 на 5600Х не буду рассказывать что фпс поднялся до 1000. Во первых память стала работать на частотах которые на порядок выше, если 2600 максимум память разгонял до 3200, то на 5600х свободно работает на 3600-3800. Фпс в играх прибавился примерно на 10 максимум 15 и самое главное пропали лаги, пропали полностью мелкие подергивания. Видюха РТх 2060 супер...
