Nice! Looking forward to the 9950x overclock. I'm considering replacing my 7950x with the 9950x since I'm doing pretty heavy multi-core work. Keep up the good work!

@@DingleBerryschnapps That's in gaming. I'm doing rendering and AI inference where the new Ryzens are actually pretty good. In Cinebench R23 you should be able to score ~44,000 with overclock on a good 360mm AIO with 9950x. The best I can do on my 7950x is ~39,500. That's ~14% increase. Honestly not bad considering it's just a CPU swap.

@@bgtubber yeah, I really don't understand why all the hate for zen 5, it's all because of gaming, it's actually an ok jump for productivity, I get a feeling an agesa update will improve gaming in the future anyway.

So guys im currently building a pc for my upgrade. I got the same CPU he talk about. However im really thorn with getting a 4 sticks of ram or 2 sticks of ram. He specifically said at the start that of the video a dual channel could go up to 5600mhz speed or is that mts? With 4 ram sticks it only be at 3600mhz or mts? So is it pointless to increase my ram sticks for my build what benefits does it give me apart from the full four stick rgb lighting on my panaromic case. Positives and Negatives please. Can we agree my fellow gentlemen than a 9700X+600MT/s RAM when tuned beat a 7800X3D in gaming?
@GodKitty6773 ай бұрын
No. Also you can do the same with the 7800x3d and overclock it to 5.3-5.4GHz if a good cpu. In applications the 9700x will win with the 5.9-6GHz overclock. Everything you can do to the 9700x, you can also do to the 7800x3d. A 9700x with PBO max is still 10% slower than a stock 7800x3d in games. Sure tune the memory will increase performance but the added cache still matters. In world of warcraft the cache is a massive performance lead. 10900kf tuned to death will beat a 5800x3d in games but the cache games it can never beat the 5800x3d. Also a maximum overclocked 5800x3d will beat an max overclocked 10900kf. You can get a Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360 SUB-ZERO for the 10900k/kf. Limit the power draw to ~180-200 watts and get 5.5GHz all cores ingame load and 6GHz single core. Have the same performance as a 5800x3d and still lose in the cache games.

@@GodKitty677 Type 9700X outperforms 7800X3D. I can assure you three things. You don't need 5,9GHz to outperform 7800X3D. You don't need to win the silicon lottery. It's not 10% slower and beats it.
@GodKitty6773 ай бұрын
@@FireCestina1200 Overall, the 9700X is relatively boring. It’s slightly better than the 7700X sometimes, sometimes it’s slightly worse. The biggest swings we see are 10%, but they’re not common enough to really stand out. The CPU is “fine.” If it didn’t have the efficiency improvements, it’d be getting the Intel 11th Gen treatment of being the dead generation, the waste of sand. But because it has efficiency, it instead gets a “meh.” If you’re on AM4, you can either upgrade to a 5700X3D for cheap or just wait. If you’re on AM5, there’s no reason to upgrade unless it’s from the lowest spec part or something, and even then, a 7800X3D may make more sense for gaming in many scenarios. - Gamers Nexus

@@FireCestina1200 The difference the 3d cache makes in some games is 100 mores fps @ 1080p. You cant match it by overclocking or tuning memory on a non x3d cpu. Example F1 24 (1080p) 9700x DDR5-6400 399.9fps 7800x3d 458.1fps. Baldur’s Gate 3 (1080p) 9700x DDR5-6400 107.3fps 7800x3d 137.6fps. FFXIV: Dawntrail (1080p) 9700x DDR5-6000 329.4fps 7800x3d 364.8fps. Starfield (1080p) 9700x DDR5-6400 131.3fps 7800x3d 152.9fps. You cant tune or overclock this lead away. What you can do, is end up gpu limited and thus the cpu doesnt matter too much. A tuned and overclocked 7800x3d is going to be faster. Maybe you can get close to stock. Go watch the video the 9700X has a secret | SMT & MAX OC Benchmarks. This is 9700x and 7800x3d. The performance is good overclock on the 9700x.
