AMD's Radeon RX 6700XT is a banger of a GPU right now.

Now and again AMD drop a banger of a Graphics Card. We saw this with the RX 480 and the RX 5700XT, cards that perform well for the price at launch and just get better over time and recently AMD did it again with an Radeon RX 6700XT. This graphics card has definitely been one to watch for and I finally have one to take a look at.

RX 6700 XT is going to be the standard "reference card" for the best bang for buck and performance for this gen of cards for sure. It beats the RX 7600 XT in performance ... It's very hard to beat on all fronts unless you spend a lot more cash.

I remember when the 6700xt came out at the height of the mining boom. I was surprised to find my year old 5700xt was worth more than a brand new 6700xt due to the 5700xt being better for mining. When I sold my 5700xt to a miner I was tempted to buy one but couldn't bring myself to pay the inflated price so ended up buying a PS5 along with a 4k monitor instead...

@@Nero_9000 We have no idea how well future games will run so it's hard to say. Both cards will provide great 1080p performance with the RTX card onviously supporting DLSS if needed but then the 12GB of VRAM on the RX 6700XT will help it last a bit longer.

I finished my first pc build back in September 2023 and I was saving up to get a RTX 3060 Ti, but it kept selling out or going up in price. It wasn’t until I read some old messages with a friend and that reminded me that AMD makes GPU’s too. I started searching for GPU’s similar to said part and that’s when the 6700 XT showed up. Bought it and I’ve been happy with it so far.

I got the 6700xt for my first ever build. I have nothing to compare it to as an “upgrade” but all I know is that it’s holding up well for whatever I throw at it at 1080p since I don’t have a 1440p monitor. Love it. Won’t see myself upgrading anytime soon

I found in the US, they were going from $360 at places I didn't know or $380-$400 at places I did know. It seems they've dropped a bit in the last two weeks. Also, the UK prices already include tax, lots of tax (though the tax where I live is 9.8% and I'm not pleased about it). Not much of an advantage for the UK, but still it was a one, however rare.

@@Gnailgnuh nah i use Pads, like 1,5mm or 2mm from Thermal Grzzly i cut them into 4 pcs behind the VRMS and GDDR6 memorys. You find a video here on youtube look "Thermal Pad-Mod verbessert Temps! RX 6700 XT Backplate Thermalright Extreme Odyssey Undervolt & OC" its german but u'll see its pretty easy and u dont lost warrenty. You can do this with all Ref Cards 6000ers. My Temps are very good i play Cyberpunk 2.0 high with WQHD the card go never over 90° on hotspot.

Picked up this exact card but the 6750 XT and it performs great. My only issue is the intense coil wine. It’s my first AMD gpu and never experienced coil wine so came at a surprise. Did some undervolting but yeah still noticeable.

Hello, I come from Poland, I watch your channel and I have a question, what should be the temperature in the hot spot on this card in games, what is the minimum and what is the maximum, because I have it but I don't know what temperatures are good and what are bad For me, the GPU temperature in games is 55 degrees and in the hot spot it is 77 or 80 degrees in 1080p games. what should be the normal temperature in gaming, gpu and hot spot, please answer

Your overall temperature is more than fine, in fact it's been a while since I have seen someone say they have such low temps with any GPU lol. The hot spot will be high and sounds fine from your numbers, the hot spot will peek up and down all over the GPU die so it's not continuous.

I replaced all my kids gpus with 3 6700xt and one 6800xt. Previously we had two 2070 Supers, a 3060ti and a 5700xt. I wanted the 12gb of VRAM as we were seeing issues at times due to the 8gb. All four I replaced would be twice the GPU they were if they’d just had another 2-4gb vram. The 6700xt absolutely destroys the rtx3070 due to the extra vram. The RT on the nvidia cards is worthless with only 8gb vram and we don’t care about the RT anyway although you can certainly run RT in Fortnite and many other titles at 1080p or 1440p if you tweak settings or run FSR. As far as the 6700xts, they’re all in open TT p3 cases so no fans other than the ones on the cpu coolers’ radiators and the gpu itself. We run a power color hell hound and red devil and sapphire nitro+. All are silent and under 70c under load but the sapphire runs around 60-65c under load and remains silent. It also looks a bit better and seems better built although that’s my opinion. I bought em all used for $250 each and I wish I had bought a couple more as the premium models all went up to about $300 on the used market now. 2 of my used ones look like they’d never been used, one hadn’t and one came all dirty so I took it apart and cleaned it well, reapasted and padded it but that was a quick job. The gains were very noticeable and I sold the old gpus for $150-250 so I spent less than $200 to upgrade to the 3 6700xts. I would highly recommend the 6700xt if you can find one under $300. It destroys any 8gb gpu and outperforms the 2080ti 11gb in every game I’ve seen. A 6800xt/6900xt would be worth it over a 6700xt if you’re gaming at 4k or you are wanting 240fps at 1440p. Especially since you can grab a good used 6800xt for under 400 or a 6900xt for about the same price. Can’t go wrong with a 6700xt at all.

Should make a decent upgrade. 2060 Super is RX 5700XT level so the RX 6700XT is about 20-30% faster (Depending on the game) plus with the 12GB of VRAM it will pull away further in higher settings.

Depends on the performance you are looking for and how long you want to wait. The $200 and under market is trash, buy a used 5700 xt or nothing at all. The mid to high range is actually great at the moment. You can pick up the 6650xt for $240, the 6700 xt for $300, and the 7800 xt for $500. There are even better deals if your willing to look at used cards. The only thing is AMD's next release is going to focus on that segment but that is about a year away. If you can/want to wait that long, that's not a bad choice either. The high end is a joke. 7900xt for $800 or 4080 for $1200. No thanks. The "enthusiast" level is awful. It's where I'm personally looking and its basically 7900 xtx for $900-950 or the 4090 for $1600. A thousand dollar GPU is "settling for less". I've always been an "enthusiast" buyer but spending $1000+ on a GPU for a hobby doesn't sit well with me. Its actually sickening 🤮. Worst part is rumors are circling that there will be no 8900 XT/XTX. That means there could potentially be no AMD option for me and only a cut down and even more expensive NVIDIA option. My choices are basically: get screwed now or wait to get screwed.

Ryzen 5 5600 is the absolute best bargain at $130 and will perform the same in gaming as a 5700x that costs a lot more. It will get max performance out of your 6700xt. No reason to buy any other cpu. An older Ryzen 5 3600 is far weaker in gaming and I wouldn’t bother with one.

AMD demonstrated the 6700XT was released under clocked when this GPU arrived with a factory OC and a new name, 6750XT. All 6700XT owners should tweak to the higher spec for daily use, its like stealing $50 from AMD.

Clearly you're not aware how binning works. Early in the release cycle, say 70% of gpus manage to hit 2.5ghz, 20% can do 2.7 and the top 10% can do 2.9ghz, they sell them all as 2.5ghz and people can tweak them up to the higher frequencies if they get lucky. As production goes on, the process gets worked out and say 70% can do 2.7ghz and 30% can do 2.9ghz, that's when they release the updated model with better tuning, not that they just underclock them at launch so they can release a higher clocked sku later.

I have the XFX Radeon RX 6700XT Speedster Swift309 12GB GDDR6 graphics card in my system. I'm gonna be using it for the next 5 or 6 years until the updates stop. @@baronvonslambertUndervolted and tweaked, but stock blower. Perhaps it is just Cyberpunk and RDR (I haven't played the others bench marked here). I agree about all that extra VRAM. I'm sure that overall the 6700XT is a better card (sans ray tracing which the 2060 doesn't do well anyway), but it should be a lot better. Plenty of time has passed and I paid $315 for my 2060 when it came out. It's overall disappointing that newer and more expensive cards aren't blowing the 2060 out of the water.

The dude above must be lying or maybe using upscaling and comparing it to native performance, no way his 2060 is matching the 6700xt no matter how oc it is. And the 5700xt matches the 2070 not the 2060 in raster, dunno which benchmark you watched man.
