Not only 4c/8t, they have a fucking i5 4c/4t chip on an Enthusiast socket now. Meanwhile Coffee Lake looks like is going to offer a 6 core on the mainstream socket. I'm 20 different types of confused. Intel's lineup makes no sense.
@TheBilaras97

they have to make the i5s 4c/8t so the i7 will be bumped up to 6c/12t,they have to stay competitive

From what it looks like so far, Coffee Lake will offer an i5 branded 6c/6t chip and an i7 branded 6c/12t chip for the higher end unlocked K series parts. At the same time they're selling an "Enthusiast" socket (LGA2066) chip that has 4c/4t. Intel has lost the plot.

joseph mathew IPC for Zen isn't really that far off, it's just clock speeds. In clock for clock comparison IPC for Kaby Lake is basically identical to Skylake just chips came with higher clock speeds out of box. Given Coffee Lake is also on 14nm I'd be surprised if IPC improves much. All AMD need to do is improve clock speed limitations.

Assuming the cost of a high end R7 1700 system is ~1400USD, then in a workstation scenario Threadripper would have to be $1500 to match the cost of two R7 systems, assuming a more expensive motherboard ($100 for R7, and $300 for Threadripper), twice the cost for graphics in a VM scenario, and $100 more to double the storage and RAM. So Threadripper costing anything below $1500 is actually cheaper for the consumer in the case of a workstation, and anything below $1000 in the case of a VM, compared to buying two 8-core systems, excluding space, power, and peripheral savings. R7 1700 System in mind in USD: 1700 = 300 Mobo = 100 Graphics = 500 Storage = 150 (250GB SSD + 1TB HDD) RAM = 150 PSU = 100 Case = 100

No, not metro, but (IIRC) it has the better performance of windows 10, and the usability of 7. Also, there has just been too much shady shit going on with 10 for me to willingly upgrade, and 8 has the performance, support, and usability that'll last for a lot longer than 7, IMO. I installed classic shell and a few other programs to get it to behave a bit more like 7, but there are pretty reasonable performance gains from using 8, I think.

So, I can give a bit of insight into the League of Legends LCS structure changes for you since it's something I've been following since it came about. Basically, the current format in North America and the EU is that the bottom teams at the end of the Spring and Summer seasons (Note that League of Legends has, technically, 3 seasons and one off season period) are forced to defend their position in the league against the top Challenger Series teams. Challenger Series teams are any team that competes in League of Legends. That's been basically it since it came about. The idea is that anyone can form a team, and if that team is good enough, they too can earn the right to play professionally in the LCS. Fans are divided on the issue to some extent, but the basic idea that has the rules about sitting at the bottom is that fans don't want to see LCS turn into American Professional Sports (for one reason or another), where a team just sits at the bottom paying in only the absolute minimum into LCS but then getting rewarded with profit sharing and thereby being a net drain on the whole thing. On the flip side, investors do not want to invest in teams if a bad Spring or Summer split could see them kicked out of the LCS. Because that can happen under the current format. League is an ever changing environment. Every month it gets patched, and sometimes those patches can have a huge effect on how the game is played. So, what Riot is trying to do is put in a safety valve that assures fans that no outside investors are going to come in and tank the overall competitiveness of the LCS while draining out money. This safety valve basically says that if you finish in last place for several years in a row, then someone else gets to take your spot.

On the League of Legends news the reason it's 10mill is that it's a permanent slot. They are moving away from the risky financial model of promotions and relegations to a permanent franchising model similar to traditional sports. This will help teams get BIGGER sponsors as mainstream sponsors wouldn't invest if there is even a chance they could be relegated.

A few weeks ago I commented on a video saying that AMD would price their threadripper below 1000 us dollars because the price difference will greatly influence their units sold. Even among the enthusiasts, there's not a lot of people willing to spend 1200 dollars or more in a CPU. Now... Slam it with something like a 799 price tag and every music studio, production company, photography studio, etc. that's serious about horsepower will get one. Especially when the desktop Mac is basically dead.

Paris accord was a tax on America. It was one of the worst agreements we have ever made. Not only would it do little to nothing about global warming, it was a mandated 20% reduction that left American companies vulnerable to international lawsuits and was never ratified by Congress. So it essentially bypassed the American people and the law but affected the American economy and jobs without doing anything substantial. It was a projected cost of 1-2 trillion dollars a year cost. China didn't have to curb their emissions at all and we would have had to pay other countries for our carbon emissions. It was literally an anti American agreement. There was no reason for us to be in it except to have empty gestures at the expense of the American people and did nothing to other country leaving them with an economical advantage over us. Sooo yeah you may not like Trump but this was the right thing to do.

Honestly, I like AMD's chipset names becoming reasonable. The bulldozer lineup had 890FX, and the piledriver lineup had 970, 990X, and 990FX, so going to A320, B350, X370 Made sense to me, and I was expecting some sort of X390 chipset for Threadripper when it was announced, but it does annoy me a little that it is so close to X299, but not totally unexpected.

Riot punishing teams that purposefully try to lose is because, and this happened once in a badminton tournament in China not too long ago, purposefully losing to get into the loser's bracket of a tournament can sometimes improve your chances of reaching the finals, so teams will sometimes try to purposefully lose if the tournament is a double-knockout.

personally I'm not a huge fan of ITX or MATX for that matter. I like a large case with room to work and not make things look so cramped. I'd be in the market for EATX for a personal system way before ITX. but I am using to large video cards and a 280mm RAD for my CPU, just how I like it. when I first got it all in and my CPU idled at 4c I lost it I was so giddy, and so was my friend who owns a local computer shop. sorry for long post.

About Intel 4004. There actually were 4001, 4002 and 4003 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_4004#Name_and_variants). Those with 4004 are the set of chips designed for Busicom calculators.

Regarding the social media screening, the word is that this will be applied to people who come from the countries that Trump wants to ban... but the courts won't let him. They won't let him put up a wall, so he's raising the bar as far as he can; according to reports.

Every project I have backed on KS has delivered, save for one, and that's because it hasn't reached its completion cycle yet. But I have configence that Bloodstained will be completed in its full form, IGA-san would NOT do his fans like that.

There's reports in the US of US customs requiring people to turn over their phones and unlock them to enter the us. So that could be a way they could check. Also IRS has definitely gone after people for minor things before many times.

The Paris agreement did not specify consequences in case the countries did not meet their goals. The fact that Trump withdrew America from the agreement is flat-out preposterous. On the bright side, some states have chosen to adhere to the agreement regardless and are undertaking projects to meet the goal in spite of Trump's decision.
