@ozbizbozzle Hemp was used simply because it splits into thinner sections. We have now found a sheepswool that does the same! So its wool all round now

@Possel47 Massive difference. The sound insulation is most noticeable when you drive first time after wooling. Really quiet. Then it warms up much quicker and you dont get any dripping panels due to condensation. If you do just one thing to your van. INSULATE IT.

The wool insulates so no cold air will get to the van metal to condensate. Being hydroscopic it will also absorb moisture and when the vans warm it will let the moisture out an act as air conditioning. The wall panels and ventilation into the van wall will let it breathe. wool can absorb moisture without becoming wet to touch. The fibre has the capability of absorbing up to 30% of its own weight in moisture, before it becomes wet to touch.

this video is very honest. Dont be conned into believing you need super-branded, high price synthetic materials for any soundproofing. Nature offers you lots of materials that cheaoer and effective...such as JUTE.

Wow, only 40,000 views after 8 years, unbelievable; shows you where our heads are in dumbed-down America. I've been looking for hemp and wool alternatives on sites that have so far offered no solutions except for industrial buildings. At least now I know they make the damn stuff, which is what I'll be using, so thanks for the confirmation. I watch videos with young people using fiberglass carelessly and glue and foams - no one ever wearing masks. That stuff is so dangerous I had quit jobs when I was younger for insulation concerns. You should remarket this video since van building is becoming a national passtime, er, necessity. ciao, lol.
