Wouldn’t it make more sense for diagnosis to collect a sample of the intestinal mucosa via a rectal swab (since the trophozoites live in the mucosa) for analysis instead of the stool? I feel like this would yield a much higher accuracy for diagnosis rather than collecting stool. Same when it comes to select worm parasites (pinworm, whipworm, etc).
