Es verdad que en Ecuador a existen barrios residenciales para personas con recursos económicos muy altos específicamente en Cumbaya y Tumbaco. Pero son pocos los ecuatorianos que compraríamos una casa lujosa y costosa. Si bien es cierto buscamos la comodidad, a eso le sumamos el que ya pasamos a la curva de vida de forma descendente y cada dia nos volvemos viejitos y una casa grande con gradas no nos da una buena vida, con el pasar de los años tambien nos viene las enfermedades, pir ende se busca una casita confortable sin escaleras con mucha luz, con jardínes para sembrar verduras, maíz, ser felices lo más importante y sin tanto lujo.

I can’t complain in how I live here in the US but when I visit Ecuador to my family I have to admit they live pretty nice as well, I love Cumbaya n Tumbaco If we ever go back for good most likely will be in that area We love Loja, the Makacatos/ Bilcabamba area as well but a hassle to get there 🤦♀️ Ambato is another part we love ! Or maybe I will end up in Latacunga were I was born 👍👍

I am Ecuadorian living in North America and it baffles me that houses, not just like this, but more modest, even in middle class neighborhoods are going for US prices. The minimum wage in Ecuador is $425 a month, professionals with good income take home less than 30k a year. I don't understand how a family can even think of owning a house when the value of the house is as such. My honest guess is that the influx of expats with cash in hand is driving the prices up, specially in these sought after areas.

Beautiful home all and that neighborhood wow. Thats some house. Looks like something out of a magazine, can imagine how many people they would need to have in staff to clean and maintain the house. I viewed once a housing video in an upscale neighborhood in Guayaquil that was also wow. Thats one thing about here in Latin America. The housing developments for wealthy residents are really something out of a magazine. Grreat video.

Great video. Another country club in Cumbayá (Jacarandá) also has clay tennis courts, and in 2015 hosted an Association of Tennis Professionals tournament (ATP 250 Open). Also, you failed to mention that for $2.6m for that house you don't even get heat or air conditioning ha ha.

Thanks for showing us this country club. Love it! The equestrian center is just what im looking for. The house not so much. Allthough the exterior is nicely done i dont think it rises to the 2 mil price tag. Its a little on the tacky side.

@@proyectonuevo7487 yes, even in the not so poor areas. I also have family there and one family member had a terrible situation in which the whole building was starting to collapse. It started with the plumbing failing in one of the upper floors producing a waterfall into the lower floors. This was in Quito. I hope things have changed. Ecuador is such a great place overall.

`Hola! You can find basic Indian spices, yellow curry and garam masala, along with red, black and brown/green lentils. Those specialty spices are hard to find in EC unfortunately. Enjoy your time in Olon!

All Spanish speaking countries have an upper class. Very upper! They are mostly the descendents of the original Spanish conquistadors. But we are getting there when the Waltons of Walmart can buy a $300M superyacht while the majority of us in the US struggle to get by.

Don't be fooled with the price of that house. Most of the really nice houses in Quito start at 150k to 250k. You can even find better houses at a lower cost.

Many folks to whom I mention moving to Ecuador assume it's a third world country. Thanks to your videos, I know that's not true. I also that my retired life there will cost about a third of the average cost of living in the US. So, believe it's a third world country. Much of what I'm leaving is delusional, hostile thinking.

I haven't really spent time in Quito, but I motorcycled South America, and spent a few weeks in Cuenca. Absolutely love it there! Easy early retirement in a gorgeous town. It is very high on my list. First come evaluations of Portugal, Croatia and more Mexico, however.

Suggestion: You ought to do a segment also about the Conjunto Jacaranda & the Club Jacaranda, in Cumbaya (the first gated community and Country Club in Cumbaya) . It is perhaps just a notch below the Rancho San Francisco, so perhaps a bit more affordable, but still upper class. If you are interested I could set up a visit for you.

Between 200k and 300k would be the number you are looking for. But honestly, there are many other places that I would recommend looking for. Amelia and Jp are still very new to Quito.

You very quickly showed sort of a church or chapel in the video and I was unclear if it is part of that house or the entire real estate complex. Which is it? I ask as the house had many religious artifacts in it. Are there many houses for sale in that complex? I really loved the chandeliers in that house and the starburst on the ceiling. In reality 2 plus million is not a lot of money for a house that size compared to the prices in the USA.

Ecuador like most S. American countries still function under the Spanish colonial system where you have the extreme rich and the extreme poor.....A system that is both oppressive and outdated. Its revolting that with so much poverty people these people could not care less about the poor.

This house is big, luxurious but horrible - reminds me of Scarface’s joint. Ecuador shall move out of this Victorian style and develop its own style, more modern and using sustainable and proximity materials.

Probably and for sure there’s no garbage like the ghettos of the inner cities of the land of the free . Quito has history back 100 years before the landing of the Mayflower . The world does not start in New York and ending in Los Angeles .
