My poor boy has been battling allergies for the last couple months. His topline has deteriorated. I just switched him to a higher protein feed and lots of transactions lunging. We'll get it back in the ground and maybe in a few weeks we'll given riding a try. ❤ Thank you for some encouragement and i know we're going the right way!

Feed Purina Enrich Plus and my horse looks great, shiney and lots of dapples. I get lots of compliments about her.

Great instructional video. This was a question posed by one of the viewers at this week's live session. Hopefully she sees this video and uses these exercises in her training, especially gaining an understanding that it takes time, more than just two weeks. Am adding this to my workouts.😊

Most valuable comment for someone with no trainer is that the neck muscle gets fatter at the base of the neck. I LOVE THAT VISIAL!!

@@AmeliaNewcombDressage I also could use a pair of glasses because I couldn't see the typo until now: VISUAL. Oh, well. My cirbber has fake neck muscles. He could crack a walnut with the muscles he has developed in his 18 year career. I will look at his neck from up top to see if he is REALLY using it!

Don't forget about climbing, as well. One of the most impressive six months topline transformations I've seen is in a 19 years old retired riding school pony. He hasn't been doing that much in terms of dressage, but he now lives in a valley surrounded by hills.

Great question! Yes, sometimes I do give a little kick, kick to wake him up, but part of the movement you see is my ankles absorbing the shock of his movement. Here's a video that might help as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqrMm5qOadp_n6c

How do you break the habit of bracing? My 23 year old has an old soft tissue injury on the right rear. Vet says he is sound,but stiff due to thickening of the tendon. He tends to brace in movements requiring use of the right hind. Anything I can do to help him?

Great video (as always!) I am interested to hear which of the Purina Feed product worked best for Kensington? I have a 7yr old Hanoverian 17.3HH. He’s developing nicely but I feel that his top-line could be better. So this video really resonates. Any recommendations appreciated! Thanks Amelia

Excellent video! He looks awesome!! I did these exact exercises in my lesson on Monday on a 10m circle. I also did walk to canter on the 10m circle. ( My horse is fit and ready for that!). My instructor also said that they need to maintain the frame throughout the exercises. She told me to watch the crown piece on the bridle and try to keep it consistent the entire time.

What percentage of protein is your horses food and what is correct to build the topline
@AmeliaNewcombDressage
@AmeliaNewcombDressage Жыл бұрын
That would be a question for your purina rep, or other nutritionist. I suspect it would depend on the type of work they're doing and age.

My horse gets off and on really sore in the back and has lost some muscle in the top line (not being worked as hard). Did you just work through the soreness or did you give time off ?
@AmeliaNewcombDressage

I would recommend talking with your vet to see what the best action plan would be for your horse. Both nutrition and the right training plan are key to building your horse's topline!

Purina is the worst thing you can give a horse genuinely, it’s called Purina mills for a reason, it’s all processed and is NOT digestible for horses.

Hey there! There are actually two different purina companies/brands; one for livestock, one for dogs/cats. They are two different entities and I've had great experiences with the livestock company in m interactions both with the nutrition team and the physical results I've seen in my horses. :)

I would like to have you critique some rides of horses in the fei championship Europe. There is a British woman who announces the rides and I would like your explanation of what you see and how to improve it. Comments are transitions, loss of balance, length of stride in walk, etc. How is your back? What have you done for it. Not trying to be your bestie. I have same problems.

Hi! brilliant video thank you. i have a question though. my horse is on 100% grass all summer, what would you say is the right amount of nutrition and what exact feed would you recommend if grass isn't enough?
@AmeliaNewcombDressage
@AmeliaNewcombDressage Жыл бұрын
That would depend on how hard the horse is working, the type of work they're doing, and age as well! (plus the type of grass and the stage of growth cycle it's in!). Best thing would be to do to start is an assessment of their body scale and go from there. Talking to a nutritionist can help too. The purina team is fantastic! Check out this video to assess your horse's body scale: kzbin.infoYxtfDegh7v8
