My wife voted for her first time,Wednesday in Tennessee. She is a new citizen. She earned her vote.She lived here for 225 years, learning the look language, learning about of government,raising our 2 daughters. The lady at the early voting station welcomed her and pronounced her name correctly. She is fully American. God bless and heal our country. Smile and respect each other. Wow, Danno! What a moving speech! Your explanation of the meaning of the flag (which I knew) nearly brought me to tears. Some of the people in your age group care very little about this country, or how it is that they were given the freedoms they have. This country is a far cry from the one my husband and I grew up in. It hurts to imagine what our grandchildren are growing up in. I voted today, being certain it would be safe, because this is a rural area. But I have also been praying.

I agree with you Danno, i have ready voted. Basically i am independent so i really had educate myself this year due to the divisiveness, i am happy with my choice. In the past i didn't vote because different reasons, however this year i felt i needed to add my voice. My father fought in world war 2, my uncles fought in Korean war, my cousins fought in Vietnam, my point being, is that i owe them. So vote i did.
