As I minor who can’t vote, everyone I know is depressed about the results. How is it fair that my queer friends and my trans friends and potentially all my friends have to suffer because the adults are bigoted. Our education system is broken enough without the abolishment of the Department of Education. Queer kids are depressed enough without having their rights and choices taken away. We’re all depressed to be honest. And we can’t do shit about it because we’re just stupid kids. Adults do better. If not for your well-being, for us.

This is a great analysis I think you are spot on. Kamala needed to branch out from Biden policy. She somehow stayed too close to Biden who people were already dissatisfied with, while slowly moving more to the centre to appeal to right voters. but in the end the right wouldn't vote for her anyway and she just alienated herself from the left due to her stances on some key issues being too close to the centre and status quo, or just the same thing biden was doing which people were not satisfied with.
@Stephanie-vw3qq7 сағат бұрын
Biden's policy has resulted in 1.9% inflation. It will never be this low under any Republican administration, let alone Trump's. If Kamala had thrown shade at Biden, she would have lost black people like me. Biden already got the shiv put in his back, by Pelosi and Co. Kamala was in a no win situation, unfortunately.

I have a right leaning friend (He has several friends from both sides himself so I'm sure he had this conversation several times) and he was sympathetic and understood my feelings and wants me to always come to him as far as my despair, but said Dems name calling in the usual way of calling the other side sexist and racist etc etc is wrong - he does say this as a Hispanic guy it's important to note. What am I supposed to think and say when the racist comedian shit is not even a month old (As if I even had to stick to one thing there)? When every Trump supporter was viciously sexist against Harris and support policies that fly in the face of women's freedom and a man who is a perverted sham? When Vance, who will more likely than not be president himself in a year or so, thinks my decision to be childfree makes me less than nothing? I'm dirt poor and between jobs and struggling economically too, and yet, human rights are not and has not on the chopping block in my mind. I'm crying with a vengeance. Trump and Vance and the rest stand for everything I do not. Absolutely nothing about them I like. I'm in PA which is now a red state sponsored by Elongated Muskrat. Entire family minus me voted for Trump, and we're a disabled family on a housing voucher, everything Trump hates in Americans. This feels like a joke. The "eating cats and dogs"/"Dems control the weather" guy is in charge of the direction of the human race courtesy Project 2020We'reSoScrewed5. I dunno. I'm an optimist by nature but this is killing me. I plan to ignore the news for once and scrape whatever I can for donating to women's shelters, Palestinians and green energy initiatives when I'm working again. I'd prefer to move to a country with ideals I can believe in and be proud of, but I'm here, so I'll try to leave it better than I found it.

I've always lived and been around Latin people. A lot of them check off white for race and identify with White. They will vote white. They don't care about how their vote will affect their people. They want to sit at a white men's table. Not all of them think this way but a lot of them feel this way.

This election just happened. So no, there will not be a lot of hope and solutions today or maybe even this week. People are pissed and rightfully so (especially black women and black LGBTQIA+ people). People need time to be angry, we just can’t become apathetic. I know we always want to get up and move and organize and I love that about us, but that will also be our biggest downfall. We have so much ancestral and current trauma and this election result is bringing up a lot of those emotions. Sometimes you just need to stop and assess. Feel your feelings. Cry, scream, laugh in disbelief, get angry, AND THEN move forward. (I know you know all this so this comment wasn’t for you specifically Herby, but for anyone who wants and needs to read it). Be well my beautiful resilient Black people. All is not lost. We will be fine like always, but take the time needed to settle your emotions and focus on your mental health.

I dont know whats going to happen. But whatever does please do everything you need to take care of yourselves, so that you may help others. People are going to depend upon each other whatever happens. And know you arent alone, there are many people who feel the same way we do. One day this will pass, when I dont know, but it will as all governments (especially fascist ones) do. I dont know what the world will be like when that happens. But it will be different. Maybe even worse some in ways. Maybe not. Maybe even better in others. Maybe not even in our lifetime. But people down the line will live in that world some day. And we must do what can when we can and how we can to make it as bright as we can. I have lost all faith in America and its institutions, but I will not lose the urge the utter desire to at least try. I know this may seem naive. But damnit I must believe. I must believe so that I may try. To believe so that I may at least be able to say that I tried is worth it to me.
